Louisville Prospects 17u lost the pool final in the Adidas Spring Classic 95-93. They will advance to the Silver Bracket and play the Michigan Mustangs. Daniel Ramser (Trinity) scored 28 pts for the Prospects. Good showing for those boys playing in only their second tourney together.

So, a core of 4 boys from a non-metro region in KY (3 small counties) that aren't in the top 18 players in their class in the state? And they are beating these high-level, highly athletic kids?

 

You could take a team of the top 8 players in the 12th and compete with most teams. Those kids are very smart, very skilled and deceptively athletic. The only problem they'd have would be matching up with a super big.

Hoop Dreams 17U-Q won 65-63 against Baltimore's Finest. They advance to the Final Four to play Team Philly. Hagen Tyler had 26 points and Jacob Conway had 17.

NKY Elite 15U went 4-1 on the weekend with wins coming against Hoops 4 Health (IL) and Team UP (TN) in pool play. They beat Louisville Lightning by 8 in the first round of the Gold Bracket before falling to Legit (IN) in the semifinals. They finished with a third place win over Cincinnati Bulldogs. Austin Crawford (Bracken County) and JC Hawkins (Simon Kenton) looked to be doing a lot of the scoring. Cole Hegyi (Campbell Co) Cooper Scherr (Ryle) and Aaron O'Hara (Ryle) get after it on the defensive end.

 

NKY Elite is now 10-1 on this young AAU season. They will play next weekend in Cincinnati at the AAU Super Regional.

From TBC account it looks like they finished 2-1 in pool play with the lone lose coming in triple ot, which was sudden death. They'll be in Ft. Wayne next weekend.

Chase Shellman (DeSales), Brent Kidwell (Collins), Jay Murphy (Trinity), and Daniel Ramser (Trinity) played really well all weekend. They ended up coming out of a really tough pool that saw the number one pool seed reach the gold final, the Prospects won the Silver Bracket and the third place pool team won the Bronze Bracket.

That's weird that St Louis Eagles hold a tournament while they didn't even play in it. 16u was in Chicago, and the EYBL team was in Sacramento. Just doesn't make sense to me. Did they at least have a B team in it?

The Nike teams had to go to the Nike Qualifiers 16U and EYBL Session 1 17U to try to earn an invite to the Peach Jam in July. If the Eagles tourney was not a qualifier, they are not allowed to attend.
