Might go as far as putting Leake 7. A very PETA Tony-looking order if I say so myself.[/

Here would be my lineup tonight

1. LF Heisey

2. 1b Votto

3. RF Bruce

4. C Mesoraco

5. 2b Phillips

6. 3b Frazier

7. SS Cozart

8. P Leake

9. CF Hamilton

I think Heisey should play everyday, to hell with DUDWIG

Here is the main reason this team won't make the playoffs this season. You have 5 players in Frazier, Bruce, Hamilton, Cozart, and the Pitcher who can't even hit .230 on this team, these are 5 automatic outs at this point in the season. Sure, they have a big game here and there, but ALL of them lack consistency game in game out, just remember you don't play teams like the Cubs in the playoffs. just some food for thought.

They are 18 games in. If you are already giving up on them, that's fine but I'll wait until about 40 games in (like many others here) before making a decision. If those four starts are still hitting .230 or below then yeah we probably won't do well over the course of 162 games. But I'm not going to make knee jerk decisions after 18 games.

This would be my everyday lineup once everyone is healthy on this team.

1. 3b Shoemacker

2. 1b Votto

3. RF Bruce

4. C Mesoraco

5. 2b Phillips

6. LF Heisey

7. SS Cozart

8. CF Hamilton

9. P unless it's Leake, then he bats 8th, and Hamilton 9th

I wish the Reds would cut bait with both Ludwig and Frazier, I realize Ludwig won't be back next year, which is a good thing, but Frazier is a 17-20 Hr guy with 63-67 RBI's and will hit .225-.235 you have got to find someone better, to play 3rd.

Throwing Bruce into that group is absurd.

Overreacting post of the first month of the season is rewarded with this one.

Bruce has been the most consistent performer year to year on the roster.

This would be my everyday lineup once everyone is healthy on this team.

:lol2: There are still people who think Heisey can be an everyday player? I thought that thought was pretty much proven wrong last season?

So, Mrs. Zilla, I think perhaps that the offensive woes are likely correct. Perhaps you should subtract Bruce from your little group, but you are likely more correct than you are mistaken. With that said, this team will pitch it's way into most ballgames. Got Broxton back, got Marshall back, getting Missile back, gonna get Latos back. This team is at the top of the league when you look at pitching, and that alone will be the key to their season.

Oh, and one more thing

(drumroll, please)

it's early.

You do realize the longest Chris Heisey has ever played in MLB in straight games is 11 games right? Yet guys like Gomez, Patterson, Tavares played for 2-3 straight months, give Heisey that shot, to find out once and for all if he can or can't play everyday.

They've already found out. Whenever he's been given any semblance of extended regular playing time, it's been a disaster. He's a very good pinch-hitter late inning substitution guy. He's going to stick around the league a very long time doing that. He's not an everyday player, and every team knows it.

Happens every year. Look at his stats as a start vs coming off the bench.

I've seen enough (and so have others on here) to know he is not an everyday player. Oh, and btw Ludwick is doing better this year than Heisey so far..

Had this same pitching staff last season, how'd that workout? OOOPPPSssss. Broxton is a fat slob who should have never been signed in the first place, and you better hope the Reds have at least a 3 run lead when he comes into the game, and Latos might not be back this season, hearing his injury is a little more serious then the Reds are letting on.

While I agree, and am on the record saying as much, you have to wonder if Ludwick tanks, if they'll do just that. What other option do they have?

Broxton is overpaid I will give you that but he's a pretty solid reliever.
