I made sure to foul out of my last ever game.

My last high school basketball game we won the State Tournament!! I'll never forget that..... :ylsuper:

What year?

Wasn't high school, but I do remember my last organized basketball game. Twas at St Thomas as a sixth grader. Made the shot that won the game. I think the score was 6-4. Only points I scored all game (might have been the only points I scored all season). Barney Bichter was running the league and named me the mvp for the game (and after the game tried to talk me out of going to Highlands the next year; dang privates were recruiting way back then; told me I'd be a small fish in a big pond. Remember it like it was yesterday). No one need to report this to the KHSAA though. It happened back in 1969 or 1970; St Thomas doesn't have a high school any more; Barney's passed away; and I never contributed much at Highlands anyway (turns out Barney was right about that small fish thing; at least as it related to me). But boy I do remember that jumper from about the foul line. It was sweet. Nothing but backboard, hard metal around the rim and finally net!

 

 

Thanks for sharing... I guess we shouldnt limit this to High school as some stopped playing either in grade school, jr high, etc.......

Playing Harrodsburg for the right to go the 2000 12th Region Championship game.

Lost by 4 to them. I fouled out with 1:45 left from a crap call when going for a loose ball. (Officiating was bad on both ends that game).

6 seniors on the team with a JR who could fill it up. 2 days before the game Isaiah Super tore his ACL in Practice. If we would have had him and his aver of 12 points a game we win and would have played Mercer Co in the championship game.

Super tried to play in the game but just couldn't move and it was gutsy effort by him to even try. Even without him we had chanced to win just didn’t hit our FT's. Of course that is the same team (SW) that won the 48th district title that year out of the blue. We were loaded athletically but only had played as a full team that senior year after a couple people quit then rejoined their Senior year. 3 guys who had played all basketball and then 2 that came on from the football team that hadn't played since their freshman/soph years. Loaded SR class. (Blair, Boon, Merrick, Tingle, Maybrier, Skaggs, Gregory and one outstanding JR in Super)

Those were the day’s Super stays healthy I still think we play in RUPP.

Scored last points in an embarssing district loss to a terrible Holmes team.

I know it was outside the thread topic, but I just HAS to share. Its my one shining moment involving basketball. I've been waiting since I joined BGP when it was started for someone to start this thread so I could tell of my great accomplishments. This now completed, my life fulfilled, I can go back to work.

I got mine in the mid 90's. It was absolutely awesome!!!

Yeah, I remember it. Lost in the regional finals at Cawood to Clay Co. I actually played well and gave us a big spark in the 4th quarter against Clay, but we blew it a few minutes after I came out and we lost. Couldnt believe it was over...

I'll never forget mine. Lost in Overtime in the biggest gym in the state. Not a day goes by where I don't think about it.

I was at this game. Might have been the best game that I've seen. PRP was tough.

I did remember mine, but my Jackson City Tigers (55 district) won their first district title since 1934 tonight and I have seemed to forgotten my last game, or is it I just don't worry about it now. It seems as if I'm living it all over again, but this time with greater results. Go Tigers!
