8 Beers That You Should Stop Drinking Immediately

Featured Replies

Many of us choose what we eat very carefully, or at least dedicate our minimum attention to it. But when it comes to drinks, especially alcoholic beverages, we do little to make the best decisions for our health. Which is a HUGE mistake. All the work for your body can be ruined in a weekend out. While foods and non alcoholic beverages are required to list their ingredients and are monitored by the FDA, beer does not belong in either. Alcohol industry had lobbied for years to avoid labeling its ingredients. Some to protect its recipes, but most – to hide harmful ingredients.

1. Newcastle Brown Ale

2. Budweiser

4. Miller Lite

7. Coors Light

They list "good beers" too.

Man that shoots my diet down.

I hesitated to open this thread. Beers I should stop drinking immediately? Whatever......

I only need to know 2 things about the beer I drink.

1. It's cold.

2. It's beer.

Good. None of my favorites made the list.

Not that I would have stopped drinking it though.

Word.

I don't drink enough beer to care. Now, if they start saying there are bad things in bourbon, we are going to have a problem!

In terms of the health quality of bourbon, I don't know but for those watching their waist lines, a friend of mine on Weight Watchers said that bourbon only had 1 point (or was it 0 points??) so if you are going to drink while watching your weight, bourbon would be a good choice. The bourbon selection of her cabinet has become quite impressive since she found that out.

Isn't the calorie count in Bourbon similar to others? And if so, how can this be true? In other words, the only thing that matters is how many calories come in and how many burn off. Right?

I too was surprised to hear that. If I had to guess (and this is a guess), bourbon does not have near the starches of beer and many other hard liquors and does not have much in the way of sugars like wine or other hard liquors (I believe it has to have a little bit to get the distillation process going but apparently it doesn't take much). If you think about it, bourbon is not a "sweet" drink so I guess it makes sense that has very little in the way of starches and sugars.
