No talk of Jake Ohmer from Scott. The Sophomore to be was their leading scorer when Blake Schneider was out with an injury. Al the kid do was average 15 per game. It would be hard to think of a better shooter in the Region.

Also I watched the Camels many times this summer and when they had their full squad they were very impressive. They are a clear, very clear leader of the 10th and could win a couple at Rupp, if healthy and based on draw.

I have to agree, the Camels, with all players present, have been pretty impressive the few times I've seen them.

I don't see him winning any of those 5

 

I think the last two are winnable games, but I also don't know anything about Lloyd.

 

 

The Nicholos game could go eithier way seemed as the blue jackets we're hitting their stride twards the end of last season. Just could not compete with Harrison. I don't know who they have coming back from last yrs squad. Definitely not a team to be overlooked by a majority of the 10th. IMO.

Has the teams participating in the Murph Classic been announced yet?

Has the teams participating in the Murph Classic been announced yet?

 

Although nothing has been announced, or finalized yet I've heard the following schools mentioned: Campbell Co, Scott High, Madison Central, Ryle, Newport, Augusta, Harrison Co, and Mason Co.

 

If that field holds true, should be a pretty competitive tournament.

Scott has a lot of talent in that sophomore class.

Mason County should be good this year and has some good talent coming up.They have a good group of incoming freshman. Saw them play at Montgomery Co. A couple weeks ago. Looked better than they did as 8th graders. Garrison played up last year and is an exceptional athlete, Perkins is 6'7" and has a nice midrange game, Dunaway is a very good ball handler at the point, have several potentially good players in this group.

Interesting to see that no one is giving Nicholas County any hope for 14-15. Coach Newton will be happy to play the overlooked, underdog role I'm sure. They will have 5 or 6 seniors, led by senior Tyler Newton (15 ppg last season). He was voted to the All-10th Region team (Honorable Mention) with Scott Keaton and should be even better next season. I hear he has been adding strength and shooting lights out this summer. Several schools are recruiting him steady at this point. He will have fellow seniors, Ben Duncan and Dillon Webb with him in the back-court. Duncan was a little banged up this summer, but added tremendous rebounding and defense. Webb shot the ball well in June and does the little things that NC needs to be successful. Christian George is another senior that can play and was out most of June. In the front-court, Nicholas County lost Logan Fryman and Keaton to graduation, but the cupboard is not bare. Juniors Elijah Barnett and JP Wagoner will be joined by senior Drake Vice and freshman Dakota Ring to pick up the inside game. I hear Barnett could be a big surprise in the 10th this season after working through some health issues he has been dealing with for a couple of years. They will be deep with sophomore guards Logan Stafford, Trent Letcher, and Wes Sapp counted on off the bench. Freshmen guard, Spencer Morris, will be a kid to watch this season and for years to come in Carlisle. He can do a lot of things well and has been in the gym this summer. If anyone is to push Harrison in the 38th, it may be Nicholas County. The Jackets had good wins last season over Robertson, Bourbon, Newport. Pike Co. Central, and Frankfort. They finished in the top half of the 10th Region in wins and lost two hard fought, low-scoring battles in the final 2 minutes to RC in the All-A and 38th district tournaments.

The Class A 10th Region will be wide open for the next several years, unless someone pulls a Cordia,lol.
