March 29, 201412 yr Miles Simpson is up to 230 pounds and will probably be the starting middle linebacker. There's a blast from the past in NKY, did he play much last year?
March 29, 201412 yr Author There's a blast from the past in NKY, did he play much last year? Was the 2nd string mlb had 11 tackles. 81 career tackles.
April 3, 201412 yr Author Somebody Tweeted this from practice. UK's first team D in a 3-4 front: Meant, Douglas, Smith. LBs: Dupree, Hatcher, Simpson, Henderson. CBs: Quinn, Tiller. S: Stamps, Faulkner
April 3, 201412 yr Heard today that the energy level was really high. Great focus and much more depth.

S: Stamps, Faulkner Interesting. I assumed Stamps would play corner and I also assumed McClain, Lowery, or McWilson would have been ahead of Faulkner at Safety. Hopefully Faulkner is finally reaching is potential and staying healthy. This could just be the 3-4 look though as I would imagine Cory Johnson would have to be in there in a 4-3 look. Still very exciting to see a little bit of depth emerge.

April 3, 201412 yr Miles Simpson is up to 230 pounds and will probably be the starting middle linebacker. Is that small for a MLB in the SEC? I just have an idea that they're usually bigger to handle the 300 plus offensive lineman that everyone seems to have these days. Will look forward to seeing him on the field. I always enjoy following our local players at the next level, particularly when they're on tv every week.
April 4, 201412 yr Author Is that small for a MLB in the SEC? I just have an idea that they're usually bigger to handle the 300 plus offensive lineman that everyone seems to have these days. Simpson is bigger than most of the linebackers at UK.
April 4, 201412 yr Simpson is bigger than most of the linebackers at UK. Of the 4 listed above he's actually the smallest.
April 4, 201412 yr Sounds like PT has improved a lot specifically with his foot work and release. Hopefully he has improved between the ears as well.
April 4, 201412 yr Author Of the 4 listed above he's actually the smallest. Henderson is 6'1 230 and Simpson is 6'2 230. Simpson is nothing but muscle probably has the biggest arms on the team.
April 8, 201412 yr Simpson is bigger than most of the linebackers at UK. The answer is "Yes, 6'-1" 230lbs is small for an SEC Middle LB
