Stretch1out
Never gave up. Thanks for bringing it back to the 9th Region! CCh Champs 2014!
JokersWild24
Nice run for 9th Region teams over the past decade or so. Everyone knew they were capable. I think that playing some of the best competition in Lexington and Louisville late in the year has benefitted them greatly.
Clyde
Took til 81 to get one now we've got 2 in 6 years.
Flotsam
A shout out to Newport Catholic and Holmes as well. Two excellent teams who would have well represented the 9th if the ball had taken a different bounce or two in the Regionals. :thumb:
fatsnbul
As someone who follows the 7th Region, this is the 9th Region's year. They had many great teams. Holmes, New Cath and Dixie, they can play with anyone.
FREEAGENT
Has playing the 9th Region tournament in the Bank of Kentucky Center helped 9th region teams once they get to Rupp?
fatsnbul
Has playing the 9th Region tournament in the Bank of Kentucky Center helped 9th region teams once they get to Rupp? I would say yes. Shooting in an arena is different. Depth perception.
CincySportsFan
Has playing the 9th Region tournament in the Bank of Kentucky Center helped 9th region teams once they get to Rupp? It certainly doesn't hurt. As FreeAgent said, the experience in an arena type setting with regards to the depth perception is good. The other thing, too, is the fact that their court is bigger than traditional high school courts.
Flotsam
Has playing the 9th Region tournament in the Bank of Kentucky Center helped 9th region teams once they get to Rupp? Selecting a Region champion with conditions as similar to Rupp as possible (shooting background, longer court, large crowd, etc.) is an advantage. Cov. Cath., Holmes, Holy Cross and Beechwood also played 35th District games in the BOK Arena.
Danny
Has playing the 9th Region tournament in the Bank of Kentucky Center helped 9th region teams once they get to Rupp? Now wait a minute,,,,,The 9th region is not the only one that holds thier regional on a college floor....
JokersWild24
Now wait a minute,,,,,The 9th region is not the only one that holds thier regional on a college floor.... Besides the: 1st (Murray St.), 4th (Western Kentucky University), 6th (Bellarmine), 7th (Bellarmine), 11th (EKU), 13th (Arena @ Corbin), 15th (Pikeville Center), and 16th (Morehead State) ***Varies according to year over the past 5 or so years. But yes, aside from those, it's "only" the 9th.

gerntz
What's interesting about the BKA to me is that it's not even in the 9th Region. It's in the Campbell County Schools District which plays in the 10th Region.
