I am ashamed of Bracken County

RP, I feel your pain. It's unfortunate that situations like this arise all too often. And to make matters worse, there's usually little recourse for the average fan to take. If this were the pros, maybe you don't renew your season tickets, or buy that numbered jersey, or whatever, to try and get your point across to management. You may even openly wish ill will on the team and root against them.

But, in high school, it's not that easy...especially for stand up guys like yourself. You won't wish any bad luck on the new coach (after all, he didn't do anything to cause this in the first place), and you certainly won't hope that the team goes winless next year, just to "show" the powers-that-be how bad of a mistake they've made. And, even though some may want to stay home, you won't want the same boys that you rooted for this year, to be playing in an empty gym at home next season.

So, do what you can. Stand by Chad. As Thoreau said..."The most I can do for my friend, is simply be his friend." And who knows, this may be the Lord's way of opening another door for him in a way that we may not comprehend.

Yes. The same.

Wow... I mean. Isn't that conflict of interest or something?

Side note, I don't know Mike as anything more than an official and certainly am not accusing him of anything. I just question the practice....

Very well said!!

I think Bracken will be hard pressed to find anybody to take the coaching job,

and reasonably believe they would have any stability. I can't see taking that job

and thinking to yourself oh I'll be here for 5-10 years. The people in charge at BC

have made this job a joke. Chad has done a heck of a job, like others have said

when one door closes another one opens and hopefully a far better one opens for Chad.

Been that way for decades at Bracken County.

Chad was trying to find other jobs last year. He was trying to shop around and he didn't have good things to say about Bracken County on his stops. I was in a few of the interviews. Maybe it is best for Chad and Bracken Co to go in different directions.

So where were these other jobs?

How were you involved in sitting in at least 3 interviews?

Bracken has a good young team and things were on the upswing. Now a new coach will reap the benefits of Chads hard work and the parents will say see we knew we needed a new coach. Sad about the politics of the school. Parents threaten to take their kids somewhere else. I would say there is the door.

If you were "in these interviews" it's pretty unprofessional of you to get on a forum and talk about what goes on in a "professional" setting. Coach Persinger has a right to interview for bigger jobs.

Nicholas County approached Coach Persinger about a year ago & requested that he speak with them. Chad granted that request & the two parties met and talked. The result of the conversation was Nicholas County extending more than one offer for Chad to come & coach in their system. Chad turned down each offer that Nicholas made.

Rather than say Chad "was trying to shop around" I believe it's better phrased that he was the object of Nicholas County's shopping.

While Nicholas did not get Coach Persinger, I believe they landed a nice coach in Roger Newton.

Personally I believe that Chad will be approached to coach next season. There are too many opening for him not to be on the sidelines somewhere if he chooses to coach somewhere next season. His resemue is a fairly good one and any team that lands him will have bettered their program. IMO.

I haven't asked him this point-blank, but I believe he is.

Is Chad a teacher?
