I don't know much about any of the teams, but I thought that this could be fun. Give me the team that you are familiar w/ and their equivalent.

 

CovCath - Duke

I feel like an ACC fan rooting for a rival just to make my region look good (SEC fans thrive on this.) CovCath is Kentucky's version of Duke. A private school, clad in white and blue unis supported by a loud "Crazies" following. They take real charges and phantom charges. They spread the floor on offense, hit their 3s, play annoying in your face defense, and get every single call. On top of all of this Dick Vitale loves them...

Hopkinsville is Wichita State. Gaudy record. The mainstream fan doesn't know much about them. They are athletic, play hard, play fast, and make things hard on their opponents. Some think they could win the whole thing, most think their lack of a solid schedule will be their undoing against a steady stream of solid opponents. Both have a match-up on the horizon against a beloved Kentucky team: Wichita State has UK, HopTown has Trinity.

I will put 2 of my favorite teams together. Campbell County = Xavier. They both have a big who if he is on can change the game. Also, both can shoot >50% from long range and beat anyone.

Clay County = West Virginia They always play hard, there in the mountains, and plenty of beards! I'm not sure if their coach always looks like he is getting ready to blow a gasket though.

Trinity - Virginia

 

While Virginia is not a private school, most would consider it a "silver-spoon" school. Lost to early to the big dog in their conference Duke before coming back to beat them when it counted in the ACC tourney (Trinity finally bringing down Ballard). Virginia allows the least PPG in the NCAA tourney while Trinity allows the fewest average points per game in Ky. Both are very balanced in scoring and both play most games in the 50-60 range. Bennett and Szabo both share the affinity for defense first.

Duke doesn't play defense though.

I was thinking Louisville for Campbell. Both play hard nosed defense, and the offense is headed by a senior leader (Smith/Holbrook) that's explosive.

Hopkinsville is more like Louisville when it comes to defense. Unlike Louisville, defense is all Hopkinsville has. They want to turn you over and run, and they do it pretty well. They cant shoot, and don't run sets very well at all. Their defense is their only offense, but the saying goes, defense wins games. They play every game and every opponent basically the same, smothering defense and run and gun. They are undefeated against Kentucky teams this year. Basically the same team lost by four to eventual state champs Madison Central in last years state tourny
