My problem with this is that it seems like sour grapes when both CCH boys and NCC girls had great seasons and someone posts on here to make it look like they cheated. I know this is a 'discussion board', I get all of that, but why try to 'tarnish' what the kids have done? Just seems like if the OP had a problem they would report it to KHSAA and let it be handled that way. KHSAA reviews the situations, rules on it and maybe sets a new precedent.

I don't have an opinion on the rule or not a rule or any of that. If it is indeed a rule then report the schools to the proper authorities but to call out two teams who just came off very exciting seasons is just wrong. I think it is petty.

If they wanted to discuss the rule then discuss the rule and make that the name of the thread...don't call out specific schools and especially players who happened to be interviewed.

Just my two cents....

I think their actions speak for themselves. Their players said what they did and were quoted in the press. If they don't want their reputations "tarnished", don't do anything to tarnish them.

I can understand that sentiment. I don't think anything said in either article tarnished the seasons that CovCath and NewCath have had this year. I do think it is an interesting discussion about the interpretation of the rule and also whether or not coaches are aware of the rule. IMO it is a harmless violation with very minor penalties. If I were a CovCath or NewCath fan I wouldn't be taking anything personal from these two threads and nothing from the threads would take away the success of the season.

That's definitely what's going on, though.

I agree. I can only speak for myself.

No one is calling out those two teams, they are pointing out articles that have admitted violations. Minor to me, but you make it sound like someone went out and dug up dirt on them. Noone has to. They are in the spotlight because of their success. I'm not trying to tarnish anyones success. Could really care less. But it's out there in B&W for everyone to see. That's why it's getting called out. Not because of jealousy. If they said the same thing in the middle of the season, it still would have brought red flags.

True but that's pretty much par for course on here when it's about a team we support. Pretty hard not to take things personally even when the comment may not be meant that way. I think it comes from how closely supporters identify with their programs.

I bet it's an insurance issue.

Could be. That can be fixed with waivers though.

As well as an inability to put sports in its proper perspective, but that's a widespread problem for another thread.

Seems like maybe the press is the one who caused the confusion........

See the closed thread on Cov Cath

This one is WAAAAY more clear than that one. Surely you'd agree.
