NDA's field is playable finally. Put tarp down today. Should be good for Friday if we do not get too much rain. Outfield is good as of right now but it is still damp. Can't take a lot of rain.

I want to thank Freedom and the Cru for moving the scrimmage to today instead of Thursday. It was great to be on the field playing. It was a good scrimmage and all of the girls some work in

our first trip outside will be today...yours too?

Yesterday we hit fly balls in the outfield.....infield was way too soft.

You remembered what a little yellow ball was??

Cooper @ Newport Catholic today at Bartlett Field 5:00

Finally out on a field. :dancingpa

Played for 2 hours, maybe 9 or 10 innings, no book was kept. Defense from both teams good, hitting for both still a work in progress considering it's the 1st time seeing live pitching. Both teams subbed often to get girls playing time and seeing what positions some would be best suited.

Cooper throw 3 different pitchers. Starting pitcher, big lefty, throw the ball hard and hit her spots for the most part. The 2nd was a younger girl (jv) and she struggled in the beginning, but found her spots, and the 3rd did a really nice job. Sorry I don't have names.

For the Breds fr. Haley Meyers got the starting nod, and throw BB's. Did one hell of a job out of the gate. :thumb: fr. Katherine Schreiber, like the the Cooper jv pitcher, struggled in the beginning, but as she warmed up she found her rhythm. Taylor Burkart fired off the last few innings and did a fine job......although her hitting:eek:

In all fairness no one knocked the cover off the ball for either team, and that includes Coopers Jessica Koors, and I'm a big Jess fan. All total, maybe a handful of hits for each team. For being the 1st time out for both teams I would say both coaching staffs were pleased with what they saw, but understand there is much work ahead.

Can't wait to get into full swing.

Also......I will say, there was one hell of a crowd taking in this game. Thanks to all those who came out to watch. :thumb: Quite a few girls were surprised that many folks showed up for this one.

Nice pics of Mr. lawildcat as well! :thumb:

Scott had a scrimmage yesterday on the football field since the softball field is so wet. They have another one today.

It was against Conner.

Nice pics of Mr. lawildcat as well! :thumb:

How were the fields? I hope they all dry out enough, I'd hate for the baseball or softball seasons be delayed any due to field conditions.

I'm sure he made all the right calls.:thumb:

I'm going to remember this quote during the regular season should you happen to have the pleasure of his umpiring skills.
