Each school can pay for a school wide membership or an individual coach membership. If a school pays for a school membership all assistants get to to vote as well.

Are you absolutely sure about this? I'm with spindoc, seems absolutely counterproductive makes no sense to me at all.

If that's correct, it's poo.

I am 100% sure of this!

I am 100% sure of this!

Wow...as doc said...that's just:poop: and the whole voting process has less validity to it.

I am 100% sure of this!

wow, I am surprised by this. Not sure how this can be fair then.

Agree 100%. IMO an assistant coach should never vote for a varsity coach of the year. Whether that be district, region, or statewide.

If that's the case, I simply think that the award is less meaningful. I have no reason to doubt that it indeed is the case. Curious how the KHSAA has hitched it's wagon to that award if it's done this way.

. Also, is Hicks beloved by his fellow 11th Region coaches? That might alter some voting too.
Bingo ! I believe you hit the nail on the head !

Why would you even want to win CoY if your school voting is the reason you won.

I know one group who was not surprised at the outcome of the coach's vote--the parents. They never think the coach gets it right!
