I wasn't able to be at the game so I listened to the final minutes of the game and that is how the voice of the colonels described the final sequence.

I wasn't at the game either but have learned long ago the homer bias by announcers of whatever team they announce for always comes across so biased that anything that is against their team they usually have the feeling their team is always in the right and the opponents are always I. The wrong.

The same thing goes on in football etc. also. That is why I usually don't listen to streaming that the announcers are from one of the teams involved.

I wasn't at the game but 2 more points simply sounds like whining than anything else.

Anyone who listens to any HS steam from any teams announcers will always have a very biased feel most of the times. Anyone ever listen to Ryles football stream last year when they played CCH? They were saying the same thing about CCH when the Colonels scored the last TD.

Its all the same and you have to learn to let it run off your shoulder and take it for what it is.

I was there... I absolutely would not call it classless!

McLendon had the ball thrown to him the length of the court and he initially was just holding it on the block... I think there was about 10 seconds on the clock when the pass was made... Holmes was up 8... CCH players were running down the floor, to presumably foul... the Holmes bench started yelling at McLendon to shoot it... I don't think they were aware of the time... it was high stress, high pressure game... everything was going fast... No way it was an intentional rub

The play doesn't matter to me but the fact of the matter is the player was standing beside the CCH player holding the ball with no intention to defend. The bench did yell for him to make it and the coach signaled go ahead so he did. I was a few feet from the bench but I really don't see where it matters.

I too think this thread is useless. But you have the facts as I saw it.

I listened to the second half of the game on CovCath Internet radio. As I recall the final moments, CovCath announcer -- or his sidekick -- said Holmes' running out the clock at the end of second OT "instead of running up the score" was classy. So when McClendon scored at the very end ... whoops ... the announcer -- or his sidekick -- had to backtrack on his statement/prediction. So what was classy then became classless by default. Yawn. This stuff happens on school broadcasts. Much ado about nothing.

Of coarse you do...if a Holmes player went over and told a Colonel player "good game" with a pat on the butt it would have been classless.

It was in the heat of the moment. Had CovCath players not sprinted the length of the floor to get down there, then I don't think he would have shot it (or been told to shoot it)... if CCH was still trying, then Holmes had every right to as well. It really was just a quick impulse reaction... absolutely no malice.

I too, for the record, think this is a bad thread too.
