Holmes 72 Covington Catholic 62 2OT (35th District Final)

The BOK arena has been mentioned quite a few times on BGP. I'm curious as to its age, size, who owns it, where is it located, is it multi-purpose, etc. Thanks.

It is on the Northern Kentucky University campus and the home of the D-1 Norse. It seats probably around 7000 and is between 5-10 years old. It is multi purpose for community type events concerts, Disney Shows, circuses, etc. It is very nice. I am not sure owns it. I thought the university did, but I could be wrong.

I'd love to go back and watch this game on film and see how many possessions Holmes kept alive with offensive rebounds. CCH seemed to struggle keeping them off the glass as they got into a jumping contest vs blocking them out.

Pretty sure capacity is around 9400.

I'm not sure if it's owned by NKU or not but it is managed by SMG. Pretty sure SMG has final say on what events go in as in they could bump NKU if they wanted to.

Offensive Rebounds:

Holmes 15 Covcath 11

Defensive Rebounds:

Holmes 27 Covcath 22

Total Rebounds:

Holmes 42 Covcath 33

Not too often Covcath gets out rebounded by that much. They might not have much size, but they are great at blocking out and getting position.

I'd argue they weren't great at it last night.

First OT final minute sequence:

That probably had a lot to do with Chames and Hill...19 total rebounds for those two. (12 Hill, 7 Chames)

Bolden also rebounded well from his guard position with 10 rebounds.

I thought Hill made the difference, key put backs, rebounds and defense. Game changer.

Of course it did. That's my point. You don't block them out you're not getting the boards.

One call that got the Holmes fans loud was when the officials CORRECTLY did not call basket interference on CCH . The shot by Holmes had rolled off of the rim before the CCH player grabbed the net which caused the rim to pop. It can't be BI if the ball is already off of the rim.

Agreed. As big as Bolden was last night with 25, 10, & 5, Hill's 14 & 12 to go with 5 blocks chamged the game completely for Holmes.

I thought CCH blocked out great early in the game, but was not so good later. Probably attributed to going from M2M to zone.

I thought it was total Oscar Mayer Balogna when they called the offensive foul on Beetle out on the perimeter. Was inconsistent with how they were calling it on the other end. Ruthsatz was routinely running into the defender and pushing off, yet getting the foul called in his favor. Gotta call it the same both ways.

Quote # 26 on this thread is reporting 9 blocks,,,,What gives.....

It's possible that CCH Radio missed a few. I didn't see the game so I don't know "what gives".

You attended right? How many did you see?
