Stadium was built in 2012. Typical Dallas. Don't get me wrong, there are some people there with serious $$$, but Dallas is almost like a Miami of the 1980's when it comes to people trying to "flash".

4 of 5 Dallas kids I'll meet at school are insufferable while 4 of 5 kids from Houston actually have what the Dallas kids try to act like they do but are the most down to Earth people you'll ever meet. It's baffling.

I really think that the fact that Houston has no zoning laws has a lot to do with it. (I.e., I am tight with a kid whose parents run an engineering firm that NASA outsources to, but still went to a high school that had a decent "sketch" population of kids who were bused... not so much in D-town).

It's like the difference in Jerryworld and Reliant. There's style and there's substance. Don't confuse the two.

All that said, there are people I'm good friends with from both places, but I think I'd rather go to Houston when I pack my bags to settle down and start a practice.

I'll bet a lot that the new stadium in Katy-Sugarland-Woodlands area won't have 1" cracks in it 2 years after construction.

Sounds like Tampa, land of the $50k/year millionaire.

Our 2nd biggest office is right down the road from this place. I've swam in the adjacent natatorium a few times.

Fast curing concrete will cause this. Bet they did the work during the heat waves.

Could go back to TONS of different problems - contractor installation, engineering, or architectural design could all be culprits. I'll be interesting to see how this shakes out.

Don't they use the phrase in Texas: "All hat and no cattle"?

What people who rip on this school district never point out is that the stadium is also used for four other sports and an award-winning band, and that the other 60 million went to a state of the art academic services center and a top-notch performing arts center.

I only wish people in KY valued their schools enough to pass a bond ordinance of a percentage of this size.

Because there's so many school districts in Ky with a big enough tax base to draw from to afford such a measure. Like none.

To be fair GCHS said a bond a percentage of this size, not $60M or $120M or whatever it was

FWIW Ft Thomas which has some of the best schools in the state also has one of the higher School Tax rates in the state...money does equal success on many levels and not just athletics

Welcome to a right to work state.

I've never seen this stadium but am often in the Dallas area for work. If you drive around a bit, you'll figure out just how crazy those people are about football. It really is a year round addiction. Some of these stadiums for HS teams are nicer than most of the college stadiums around NKY.
