CCH playing Moeller or St X or Lasalle says alot when comparing them to SK and the 1A/2A schedule they play. If SK wants the respect, they need to play a better schedule. You downplay CCH because they haven't beaten Highlands in however many years, but that doesn't mean they aren't the 2nd best team in the area. A lot of people will and have said that CCH would have won 2-3 titles in recent years if not for the Highlands roadblock. You're in the minority when it comes to the opinion on whether CCH is an elite team in NKY.

CCH has a great tradition, but I wouldn't list them as 2nd best. They barely squeezed by Ryle last year and we all know how down Ryle was, they also lost to Conner the year before etc. It's not like CCH runs the table against everyone except Highlands. If that was the case then I'd agrree with you, but the fact is they haven't beaten Highlands etc. so why place them above other schools in the area? The reason is because they are CCH and that is all.

SK went undefeated last year but I would wager to bet many fans in NKY would rank CCH above SK last year simply off of reputation.

As far as CCH playing Lasalle and Moeller saying alot when comparing to SK, well I disagree. CCH losing and having a running clock out on them if it were KHSAA rules most of those games says one thing, CCH can't hang with those teams. It says nothing about SK's schedule. If people want to give SK a hard time for scheduling teams that are in lower classes, well SK is 6A, there are no 7A teams and CCH also plays a 1A team every year yet that doesn't seem to be any problem for their fans.

SOS is such a cop out when you can't even beat those teams that make your SOS so good.

I simply don't buy the "if you more to choose from" argument. What are you choosing? If we go to, say China and make a football team will they be better then the 49ers? Well, they should be, we have 10 billion people to choose from in China. By the same argument, why is Highlands so good? Henderson County has much more players to choose from, Henderson County should beat Highlands 10 out of 10 times.

Platooning makes a huge difference if a team beats another team, if one team platoons and the other does not I would venture to say the statistics are heavily favored in the way of the team that platoons. Why? Because they have more players to choose from? No. Because they have fresh players on the field.

Apples and oranges. China/49ers? LOL, c'mon man

Platooning does make a huge difference, no argument there.

I believe the statistics would also support that the team with the bigger population that also platoons would have better depth and quality players to choose from when putting a team together. I also believe the "dropoff" in the talent pool would be much higher as you get deeper in to the smaller school population.

There are some sporadic exceptions to the numbers game. Highlands -vs- Trinity for instance, Trinity is going to more than likely own that series, but it doesn't mean Highlands won't be competitive with T and occasionally beat them.

If numbers don't matter then why does KY have 6 classes for football? To make a more level playing field for similar size schools? Why not just have one class like we do in baseball and basketball?

Agreed!

There's a surprise lol.

Bluedad, when was the last time CCH beat any of those teams?

The Blue Bird faithful ran out of cake! Almost forgot the baby Birdies got shut out by the mighty Pioneers in Freshman football. :D

I'm sure that award is front and center on the Pioneer's trophy case, correct? :D

Looks like SK in the last 5 years have gone on to not only win more district titles than CCH but have also made it further in the playoffs than CCH has....so yes, fact. CCH made it to 3rd round 3 times, SK made it to the 3rd round 4 times. Fact.

I was referring to respect, not who is better. I think that SK has been close to CCH in a couple recent years. However,SK will not get the respect until they beef up their schedule to match CCH's schedule, or win a title. It's just the way it goes.

Agreed!

Playing those big Cincy schools has resulted in how many state titles for Cov Cath in the past 5 years? My count is .....wait for it....ZERO.

So I guess we should just play a corn dog schedule like SK and end up with exactly the same results?

Hmmmm- respect.

Wait- do you even remember what your arguing about? Is it some perceived lack of respect, or wins and losses?

When was the last time SK or (Cooper for that matter) even played teams like that?

Cooper made it to the state title game less than 24 months ago. SK won their district and went undefeated in the regular season just last year.

What matters is the end results, scheduling teams simply to get embarrassed proves nothing. Anybody can do that.

What we are talking about is lack of respect. It was mentioned that the reason CCH deserves respect above other teams other than Highlands is be ause of who they schedule. I claim who cares who you schedule when you can't beat any of those teams you are so proud of scheduling.

So again Bluedad I ask you, when was the last time CCH beat any of those teams? I bet you it was a lot longer than another NKY team beating CCH besides Highlands yet that team doesn't get the respect CCH does which basically proves my point.

Your statement proves my point. Doesn't matter who you schedule, results are what counts.

I'll go one step further. SK must be better than Cov Cath because we play an inferior schedule so we must really overcome adversity in the playoffs. Cov Cath, if using the same logic, took several beatings and didn't use that as an advantage come playoffs. TIC, I know, but fits the argument.

You need to learn how to quote posts.

The problem is, you do t bend up with the same results. Last I checked SK is district champions, can't say that about CCH. Can't say that about CCH this entire decade. So the same results to you is what you use to say CCH is better while the truth and facts state differently.

NKY Bandit, you need to understand that I. Bluedads world, getting crushed by an average of 31 points a game over the last 5 years to the Ohio teams equals being the best respected team in the area.

Its that flawed thinking that makes some people look really foolish.

In the end, most fans would rather have a team that is undefeated in the regular season, district champion and a regional finalist than one that went out early in the playoffs.
