We need a thread about all the things that MTGL is the only BGPer to do. I'm sure it would be shocking.

There is a restaurant in Olean, right on the main drive, called Napoli Pizza -- best restaurant in town. Try it if you go back, they never disappoint.

That reminds me of my visit to East Texas State (now Texas A&M Commerce), which has a nearby town named Greenville, TX. At the time they had an official sign (green highway sign, not something made by some yahoo) that was the most unbelievable thing I'd ever seen. I pulled over and took a picture of it (was in 1992), I need to see if I can find that. I'm sure it is down now...but all I can say is...wow.

To be fair, when I was there that sign was down and it was replaced with a green highway version...but same message. In 1992!

MTGL should be an inspiration to us all...get our butts off the couch and experience the world...not just the traditional vacation spots, but the lesser known sites, businesses, restaurants, and watering holes.

In 1993 I twice stayed in a Ramada Inn in Ogalalla, Nebraska that had a girl that worked the front desk who was about a 9.2. Yes, she is solely the reason I stayed there the 2nd time. And yes, I bought her dinner at a local red-roofed Pizza Hut. :sssh:

I feel badly for her and wish there had been some benevolent St. Bonaventure faculty member in there at the time with some loot who could have picked up the tab. Like others have said, she'll have her job back...or one much better.

 

Nope. Was there last week. Spent 4 fun filled days in the big o :-) and had lunch there one day.
