mcpapa Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Yikes! Giving some of the other teams in the 10th reason to hope.
Ole Kentuckian Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Well?????? This just adds to the confusion of who should be ranked where doesn't it? Hard to imagine MoCo losing at home to a lessor ranked team, but almost unbelievable that it happened on Senior Night . . . but then that's what Lexington Catholic allowed Lincoln to come in and do to them this very same night. Not how your final home game is supposed to go. Leaves a really bad taste in your mouth I would think. EDIT ADD: Hmmmn, is it possible the rumored coaching change could have aroused Bryan Station to a higher level?

EDIT ADD: Hmmmn, is it possible the rumored coaching change could have aroused Bryan Station to a higher level? They've certainly played well since. Don't think it was the rumored change though, as it is my understanding that the HC hasn't been on the sidelines for a bit. Station's problem is that they have a bunch of small guards who don't really shoot it well consistently. When Washington gets hot (and it sounds like he did tonight), I can see how they'd be tough to deal with. He can certainly create his own shot.

jahearme Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I only got to see a quarter of this one. Station VERY athletic and Washington couldn't miss. Helped that he was pretty much wide open on every shot. The Indians get 2 more shots to right the ship before post season play begins. They travel to Nicholas Co. tonight to take on the Bluejackets and then they play at home Friday night against a Harrison Co. team that is starting to come around.

JokersWild24 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Sounds like MoCo ran into a wounded dog. Both Henry Clay and Bryan Station have been playing well. District is at Bryan Station and one will go home early. Station's kids really seem to be playing hard for Jaron Brown. Looking at the situation, what more do they have to lose and what do they have to gain? Gonna be interesting.

Watching BS before the game and during warmups last night, Jaron really seems to have a good rapport with the players. I think that's something that's been missing at Station the last couple of years. I say they beat Henry Clay.
jahearme Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 2 layups. Might be just what the doctor ordered after last night. I wouldn't call Harrison Co. a layup though. They are better than their record.
Rez Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Station looked very good. They hit just over 58% from the field, including double digit 3s. They did not turn the ball over, and they were +9 rebounding (most of that had to come in the second half). That's how you win a ball game. The two teams traded blows in the first half, with Station leading most of the half between 2-7 points. The Indians came out in the second half in man to man, and they did a poor job early in the quarter of containing dribble penetration. The lead built to double digits for the Defenders and Montgomery Co started to press things, and got very impatient offensively with a lot of uncharacteristic turnovers. If Bryan Station plays like this, Henry Clay will be going home early, and the Defenders could be a dangerous first round foe for some 11th region team.
