I don't think I'd be totally opposed to that. I'm not opposed to where there are at now either though. With Holmes losing and Perry County Central being defeated also the opportunity to move back up is there.

Anyone that has watched Montgomery this year should know that except for one or two games they have not played like a top 10 team in the state. They have top 10 talent but they have not been consistent enough to be a top 10 team.

Not consistent? Lose 1 game and 4-1 vs top 20 teams. I've seen them play several times. The Etown game was a scheduling nightmare. Come back to beat Clark at Clark, then travel two hours the next day to play a good team didn't set up well for Moco. Wayne in same spot when they played Moco. Still worthy of top 10 status based on top 20 victories. They beat Wayne rather easily.

I really feel like the rest of the State underrates some of the lesser known Louisville teams while overrating some of the better and more well known teams in the 12th-16th on a consistent basis. If we're talking about who would win a head to head game on a neutral floor, give me Iroquois, Doss, and Waggener types and I like my chances of winning 2 out of 3 against teams like Lincoln County, Cordia, and even Perry or Knott County Central types, who are all rated above them.

 

Maybe I'm over applying the transitive property to some close losses that the Louisville teams have to schools like Ballard, Trinity, and PRP and overrating their wins over schools like Manual, Male, and Eastern.

 

Seeing Seneca come to Scott County and play a few years ago and witnessing the kind of talent they had in a year they couldn't even get out of their district really opened my eyes to the quality of play in Louisville outside of schools like Ballard and PRP who are more usual suspects on a list of the State's top teams.

 

 

 

I'd also give some bump for MoCo and Wayne County, although they can't really move up much higher.

 

 

 

Perry County Central will obviously drop a little given their loss to Knott County Central, but that wasn't known at the time.

 

Holmes might be free-falling.

 

Collins only getting a 3 point win over Frankfort and a 1 point win over Shelby County makes me question them.

For the 6th and 7th to be such great regions, they don't have a lot of hardware to show for it.

Rankings are objective....If Syracuse lost a game by 29, would they fall out of top 10? The Moco squad sure has a lot of chatter on here.

I don't consider a Christmas tournament where a Louisville team goes to the 12th and plays in a tournament where the 12th's officials are probably calling it knowing they'll be rated by one school but not the other at some point in time to be very 'neutral'.

 

Neutral is Doss playing Ballard in Louisville at Valley and only losing by 10.

 

Let them go play at a gym in the 1st or 2nd region, far from either school, take the names off the jerseys and have refs from the Sun Belt that aren't rated by either school's coaches and I know who I'm taking if Lincoln County and Doss match up.
