Lol, you want UK to recruit worse just to have a chance to beat WKU. Every single player UK signed is better than anyone you mentioned. This isn't Florida there is not enough talent. There is just no way a basketball state (UK) has that many quality football players to play in the SEC. You are right Western did beat Joker players twice, but I don't think they beat elite KY players (when it's there) and pretty good Ohio players, which is what Stoopy is building with.

It has been stated before, most of the out-of-state talent UK gets (probably all the out-of-state talent UK gets) is those state's second, third or fourth tier talent. Why is the second, third or fourth tier talent from other states automatically better then Kentucky's first tier talent. UK fans have said for years that most Kentucky kids just want to represent their state, that is why they go to UK and not to upper level programs that offer them, i.e.: Barker and Elam. Would it mean more to those Kentucky players to play for UK then players from other states that didn't get the offer they wanted and ended up at UK by default?

 

Not enough talent? There were 34 D1 FBS signees. Seven of those ended up at UK. 14 ended up at WKU. One signed with OSU. Two signed with UofL. Two signed with Cincinnati. That's 26 players, 19 that some say couldn't help UK. Seems that 20 players a year isn't that far fetched.

 

I know one player that wanted to play for UK more then anything. UK said he could walk on. He went on to play in the Rose Bowl with Ohio State University. Can't play for UK, but can play of OSU in the Rose Bowl. That makes sense.

 

It seems we are always looking to the future for UK football but we never get there. We are always on the right track, we are always just a year away. Maybe we can win seven games this year. Search the old UK threads from years past, you will hear the same things every year, but my post is "absurd".

Ohio has Ohio players and national players, Florida has a surplus of football and bball players, UL used mainly Florida players to get to BCS games.

 

Average to good players such as a Miles Simpson is put in a really tough position expecting to play a major role at UK, when he could be a really good player at Western.

 

You keep pointing out the Western wins over UK. UK was absolutely terrible the past few years and had TERRIBLE coaching before this year. That is a not a fair example, if Western were to beat UK in 2 years, then I would listen to your argument more UK still hasn't won a conference game in over 2 years, so W WKU's win isn't exactly a shock, the product in Lexington the past few years has been down right terrible.

Would you rather have a 4 star from Florida/Ohio or a 2 star from KY. If you choose the 2 star then you'll never win in the SEC. There's a difference between D1 SeC, ACC, B1G, etc scholarships than Mac CUSA etc. This is one of the silliest arguments I've ever heard. A player that goes to WKU is different than a kid that goes to Alabama. UK wants te kids that can play at at Bama not WKU

I recognize the names but they weren't elite talent. The one kid is a holder for Ark, the other kid signed with Miami who UK killed, and I guess the other 2 go to Kansas who is absolutely terrible maybe even worse than UK was last year. That Bloomfield kid was pretty good though. None of these kids would help UK win better than who they signed and who they will continue to sign.
