Final from The Fieldhouse.

Shawn Johnson leads the Royals with 18.

Final.

First half was nip and tuck. Royals gradually pulled away in the second half and were never headed.

Balanced scoring for Mason County; 4 in double figures paced by Shawn Johnson's 18 and (I think) 9 boards. Huge stretch in the second quarter for Royals' PG Williams, who took over for about a 4-minute stretch. Big games from Mason County's forwards Henry and O'Mara.

Campbell's big man thwarted all night long, he finished with 5 points and didn't see much action when the Camels were trying to get back in it late.

Doesn't get any easier for the Royals, who travel to Winchester tomorrow night.

Stat of the night.

Camels hit 10 of 20 three-pointers and Royals win by 14.

Wow.

Coach O'Hearn was saying on the post-game interview that Campbell posed matchup problems with the small lineup. With O'Mara drawing the primary defensive assignment on Wilson, Johnson had to come out and guard way outside his comfort zone.

That being said, the game's more significant matchup issue was Campbell's size deficit on the front line.

Campbell 15 17 14 20 --66

Mason 17 18 20 25 --80

Hot-shooting Royals topple Camels

Impressive. I posted in the prediction thread I thought Mason would win by 10+. Congrats to the Royals on a great regional win.

The region picture is getting clearer as many of the top teams are facing one another. It'll be interesting to see how the Mason vs' Montgomery match up goes. Both have size so the key match ups IMO would be the guard play. Bryan Wallace is the best defender in the region if not the state.

Dre Jackson with 21... The most underrated player in the region.

What is the date of this rescheduled game?

What is the date of this rescheduled game?

I believe it's next week but I'm not certain. Maybe one of our friends from Mason or Montgomery can shed some light?

He was tough last night. I came away very impressed with his shooting touch and his ability to get to the basket.

I believe Mason Monygomery will not be re-scheduled. Can't get a good date.
