That really surprises me. I would have thought with the great tradition of CCH BBall that someone would have been in the 2000 point club.

I have seen both more than once and Draud was the better shooter IMO. He did not create shots, as well as BH or drive to the hoop. But he was a better shooter. This is not a negative on BH at all. I believe he is the MVP in the region this year. Draud also carried that onto Vandy where the 3 point shot came into play for him against high level D1 defenders and he scored. I expect BH will be successful at Vermont, also.

I am not sure how many years Draud started at Highlands, but I don't think it was 6, probably 4. But I could be wrong. I am not sure what year he transferred there, 7th grade or 9th.

I agree. I watched Draud play and never saw anyone as sharp of a shooter as he was. Yes he took a lot of shots, but why not when he could hit like he did.

I wont compare the 2 because both play totally different syles of games. But Draud could bury a jumper from anywhere in the building.

I didn't get to watch Scott as a SR because I was off to the military but I remember him as an underclassman and thought he was the best shooter I ever seen in person

I was hoping that they would break these records next Friday, but I don't see that being possible w/ the weather causing cancellations.

I have a feeling both will fall before next Friday.

Hatton is really good. Draud was Spectacular.

The battle with Jack Jennings of Holmes is/was one of the greatest dual performances in Kentucky HS basketball history. 69 points vs 68. A back and forth Donnybrook that left everyone speechless. (Farmer vs. Houston comes to mind as well)

I have seen them both and have no bias. It's Draud.

That could be tough with all the days off for snow.

If this weather keeps up there will be a lot of games missed. It's a shame that if and when the records are broken, they won't be close to what they could have been unless all those games are made up.

I halve seen both play.

I remember watching Draud when he was a little guy playing at Turners. He even played on my younger brother's "AAU" team (I think they called it "junior pro?" back then?? I remember Bing being a bench player... Brad Carr was a bench player too. Really good team. Scott Benton played some too. And the Commadore brothers (Tony RIP).

I have also seen Hatton quite a bit... both AAU and High school.

I talk to Draud quite a bit now, as well as Brandon.

I can honestly say it would be IMPOSSIBLE to honestly compare their games. Draud's games were awhile ago... hard to really remember.

I can tell you Hatton is bigger. But that's about it.

As to your first point that is possible but with 4 games still on the schedule (Bullitt, Holy Cross, Villa, and GRC) before the CCH game at the BOKC there is a good chance that if two of those are played he will get the record. Although I think it'd be awesome for it to happen in front of a large crowd at the BOKC.

On your second point I agree. While there is still a chance for Hatton to get 3,000 the odds are not nearly as high as if there weren't so many cancellations.

I think it's safe to say Draud and Hatton are probably the 2 most prolific scorers NKY hoops has seen in a long long time. Atleast going back 40 yrs. Some of you elder statesman can maybe talk pre 1973. Lol

Best baketball player in NKY though might just be the guy who too Draud's place as Principal at Newport... Tony Watts. I'm not sure anyone in the area could beat him one-on-one... including Hatton. And I'm talking about right now, at this moment in time. FWIW

Am I understanding that you think Draud and Jennings had their big nights against each other? Draud's big game was 1986 as a senior against Holmes and Jennings was 1988 as a senior against NewCath.

the night Jack scored 69, Draud was a sophomore in college.

I'll take Draud in the first question. He took more shots late in his career, but played basically three years less of varsity than Hatton did to get his points. Draud played some as a freshman, but he sure didn't get many shots that season. Entering their sophomore seasons, Hatton had to have a huge edge in points.

Not a knock on Hatton at all but I'll take Draud and it's not as close in my mind as it appears to others.

I'll take Ruthsatz over Listerman as well. Andy was a big guard for his time who made a living at the foul line, some stick backs, and drives to the rim that would be hard pressed to be there today. He played four full years of varsity, but I'm still surprised he's the leading scorer in school history. His scoring never stood out. he could guard the ball, guard off the ball, rebound, pass, he was a really nice player. But CCH has has much better scorers who I thought would have been at the top of the list.

That said, Ruthsatz can play and score. If I was drafting an all time team, I may make him, or any of the other three guys my number one pick, depending on who I was drafting against and what the order looked liked.

Does anyone know how many points Mitchell Blewett ended up with for his career when he graduated last year?

Don't know, but I do have a Latin-related question: are they the only Boys' JV with a female coach in Kentucky?
