If I had legs that sexy I would wear shorts everywhere too.

Well he had a great streak going but when CovCath played Holmes this season (remember how cold it was that night) he wore long pants. :ohbrother:CovCathiRadio and I just about popped our eyes out when we saw him.

Speaking of Romes, how many career points did his oldest son have at Beechwood?

Over 1000

Two separate questions: You can pick one who do you take to lead your team? Draud or Hatton both in their HS prime

Same question but with Listerman or Ruthsatz?

I am out since I didn't see Draud or Listerman play.

Draud played without the 3 point line, just imagine. Draud was a better shooter, best I have ever seen.

Draud! The young man could indeed shot the ball and if he had the 3 point shot like they have today, Hatton would be no where near Draud! He was that deadeye of a shooter!

IMHO Ruthsatz. Ruth refuses to lose, works harder in practice than anyone I have seen and in the off season, there isn't one, he his brothers and sisters live in the gym and you keep any eye out for young Mr Roland Ruthsatz, as the kid has the love and desire to be a great ball player one day. How old is Roland? Maybe four/five but just remember what I have told you, trust me........

Looked at Draud's numbers recently and he averaged 30 shots per game his junior and senior season, Hatton is averaging 14 shots per game over past 2 years. It is a moot point to talk about him not having a 3pt line when he is getting that many more shots up a game than Hatton.

Anybody seen video of Mr Draud for me to view?

Give Draud the 3 point line but let Brandon have over 800 shots his senior year and let's see where both end up scoring wise....800 shots is more than Hatton in his junior and senior year COMBINED. Draud AVERAGED 29 shots per game his senior year, while Hatton will average TWELVE for a 6 year career. Much more efficient, IMO.

I can't speak about Draud since I never saw him play, but his stats are overinflated by the amount of shots he took and Kenny Shields playing him in blowouts.

Also, think about the competition that BHatt has gone against throughout his career, playing in the Lexcath and Scott Co tourneys virtually every year, NY tournament, as well as a tough 9th region every year.

One thing to think about...as prolific a scorer as he (Draud) was, he didn't win 9th region player of the year his senior year. Anyone who was around care to name who won it and why??

Really interesting post Walter.

When comparing shot totals, why did you use the number from Draud's senior year versus Hatton's 6 year career. Stands to reason that Brandon took less shots as a middle schooler and frosh than he did in his last three years. But I get it, it makes your point if you compare apples and oranges.

What I don't get it when you say " I can't speak about Draud since I never saw him play" but then follow it up with "overinflated stats" and "played in blowouts".

I saw him play. Up close for his entire high school career. He was an exceptional scorer. Best shooter I have ever seen. He faced double and triple teams nightly. He still found a way to put the ball in the hole.

Use the senior year stats only...my point is still proven that Draud took more shots his senior year (800), than Hatton will in a two year span (junior/senior year combined). Hatton is averaging 14 shots per game right now. That's still 15 less per game with both being seniors. And Hatton is still getting 20-30 points every night. 400+ assists for his career speaks for itself as well. Kid is unselfish and still gets buckets.

Over inflated stats...meaning it took him a lot more shots to get that record than it will take Hatton. Chevy will tell you himself that he has probably cost Hatton atleast 300 points throughout his career by not playing him in blowouts like Draud did during his career. Am I not right in that? Is that not why he didn't win player of the year his senior year? Because Kenny would run the score up and leave Draud in to continue to score? The kid from Boone who went on to Wright St won player of the year Draud's senior year. Obviously a great talent, but what separated the two? I wasn't around, which is why I'm asking. Coaches thought higher of him for a reason.

I'm not saying Draud couldn't put the ball in the hole. Again, I never saw him play. I just think it's kind of silly to say that Hatton would be no where close to Draud's record if Draud had a 3 point line, yet nobody wants to acknowledge that Brandon has taken no where close to the amount of shots that Draud did throughout his career to get 2,865 pts.

As far as seeing double and triple teams, has Hatton not seen that throughout his career as well?
