I'd place Elizabethtown just east of the divider btwn Western and Central. And a line from Maysville to Middlesboro divides the east from central. Just a thought!

What is the boundary for Western Kentucky. Is it Land Between the Lakes, Pennyrile Parkway, Natcher Parkway, I-65?

 

I hear Owensboro is not, I hear Bowling Green is not, but interestingly enough Western Kentucky University is located in BG. Sometimes Henderson, Madisonville, and Hopkinsville are not either.

 

Curious to see what opinions people have on this subject

Do people out in the state really consider Oldham County more a part of Northern Kentucky than part of Louisville? Heck, everything out to LaGrange is practically a suburb at this point.

Most people out in the state (as you say) think everything up that way is one or the other (Louisville or NKY), 90% couldn't find Oldham on the map. I'd guess less than half would even know there was an Oldham county.

I think the other thread has some good answers. Starts somewhere around Daviess County or just before.

Fair enough. I always get jumbled up about Western Kentucky counties and the counties in the sort of northeast area around Ashland.

In this "equal" division' date=' Russellville would fall into the "central ky" side of the line. Got to move that line further east. Also a significant portion of Fayette Co would be considered eky. Got to move that line further east as well. Of course this is all just my opinion.[/quote']

 

That's how I see it as well. Just as far as I'm concerned.

I would consider Harrison County more Lexington than NKY and Nicholas County more Lexington than Ashland.

Do you live in that area? If so then your looking locally not how someine from 150 miles away sees it

 

If it's north of Lex it's No Ky to everyone else...if it's east of Lex it Ashland!

Anything west of Etown was how I was raised, but anything other than Princeton doesn't matter. :lol2:
