The Cavs just got Deng....the Wizards have Ariza, Webster, Nene, Beal....the Cavs have Varejao, Thompson and Bennett. It ain't even close who has the better roster. The Cavs are HORRIBLE.....

Been multiple articles on major sites (sports illustrated for example) backing up their opinion on this. I think they are both great, young players. I also think Wall is doing more THIS year and has proven to be a better play this year thus far, which is what matters. Like Lipton said, I just don't see Kyrie making his teammates better. Also, Ariza and Webster wouldn't start on most teams in the league. Varejao would start on a lot of teams and is a good player. Bennett shouldn't even be mentioned because he hardly ever plays.

Kyrie is more injury prone than Wall.

I never said a thing about Irving. But not ready to annoint JW just because he's had a solid half. I think it's UK filter that gets him all the love here, let's be honest. Terrific PG, when healthy, no more or less.

I think Kyrie will be the better long term player because he doesn't have to rely on athleticism. Wall will be the better short term player.

I still think Marburry is the winner for the one and done PG. Hated his game and intangibly he brought little, but his resume and durability is 10X that of Irving or Wall.

If you watched TNT last week there was a discussion on if Wall should be starting All Star game over Irving. It's a fan vote so they weren't going to complain but off merit a few thought Wall should starting

 

Yes the cavs stink but before the season most expert predicted the Cavs to finish ahead of the Wizards. I could go back to old threads on here and some thought the same here as well.

 

Wall makes his teammates better, Irving hasn't got there yet. Wall is the superior defender and is better at getting into the lane and finishing.

 

Wall's teammates don't turn into Teen Wolf when they get the ball either. That Cleveland team is horrible.

But, in just comparing the two guards, I see one guy who is a better shooter (Irving) and another guy who does everything else better (Wall). If it's me, especially for a point guard, I'm taking the guy that doesn't have to shoot a lot to be effective and does everything better than the other guy. Like I said, I think they are both really good and wish they were on teams with more talent around them. That's the price of being the #1 pick sometimes though.

I think it is too hard to judge just how good they are or can be with the teams they play with. If you switched the players the teams would likely be in the exact same positions they are in now. Even Rondo's stats with Boston will take a hit because he doesn't ahve 3 HOFs around him. We still know he is an excellent point guard though. His stats will likely be worse than Irving's and Wall's but out of those 3 who would you take?

To be fair John Wall's 2nd half last year and his 1st half this year have been elite level. I think he fell off people's radar missing the first half last year and Irving had the awesome All-Star weekend. But if you actually look at their bodies of work it's hard to say Wall hasn't been the more productive player.

 

I still can't believe Wall isn't on the Team USA 28 man roster . He is 23 years old and keeps getting bettter. You leave him off for a past his prime Deron Williams.
