Wait a minute! As long as he has not played varsity he can shop around anywhere he wants... for sports. There are quite a few kids who "transferred" school systems to have a better sports environment. Heck, there was one kid who played varsity for a school last year because he liked the after school food so much at the other school... or, was it the after school art projects... Idk... something like that.

He's only an 8th grader so it doesn't matter if he played varsity or not. If he was in high school and played varsity then he would be locked in at that school but since he's only in 8th grade he can still shop schools even if he played varsity. CVH started varsity at Villa Madonna as an 8th grader and went to Cov Cath.

I believe there are issues between the current head coach and the Pikes. And there is no one to blame for the older boy's behavior other than himself.

I haven't seen him play in a few years, but he was an above average football player when I saw him.

Malachi is nowhere near the athlete his brother was. Honestly, I think that's a blessing in disguise. He seems like a good kid from the interactions I've had with him. However, he's had his share of bonehead moments, just like all kids.

Thought basketball was his main sport. I would not consider him to be a standout in football.

If that is the case (and he is pretty good, which I assume he is or this thread wouldn't have started), and if he goes to CovCath, and if no one from Pius' 8th grade team moves out of the area, that Freshmen team at CovCath next year will be no joke.

It already is no joke. You will be suprised, as guys from schools other than feeder schools will play.

He is JUST a kid, nothing spectacular about him athletically. This thread is more of a poke at the family name and behavior of his brother and should have been closed from the start.
