I'm impressed with Carroll. He got a super bowl trophy on a team that had a payroll less than his team at USC. That takes talent.

That's pretty funny right there, I don't care who you are.

There is only 1 hole in his coaching game now. His style of motivation and preparation allow for 1 or 2 times per year where his team doesn't respect who they are playing and they get upset. It used to bother me but now that he is in the NFL and has playoffs it doesn't anymore. His strength was on display last night. His players have zero doubt and zero anxiety in big games which lets them turn loose and play their best.

He said that he actually stripped down the defensive game plan to let his players think less and attack faster. That's courageous when you're preparing for Manning and in the biggest game of his coaching career. They went out and just won every match-up. Really awesome stuff.

Excellent X and O coach on defense. Excellent identifier of talent. Excellent motivator. Excellent in game coach. One of the best in the business on any level. Players love playing for him.

He is an outstanding coach. I am indifferent whether I like him or not. I don't believe he has any more knowedge than many of the coaches when it come to x's and o's. He finds players that fits his system and schemes. Teams will adjust over tme to his defensive schemes. He is agressive against the pass and plays the run pretty passively. Kinda ok you can get 4 yards whoop de do, you better not pass though because we will be on you QB in no time and knock your receivers off the line of scrimmage and disrupt their routes. That is why he has big and quick DB's. Players that drove them crazy were raw speed receivers that were elusive. The Colts beat them because they couldn't contain Hilton.

They are the best defensive team without a doubt and deserved to win. Players appear to love to play for him. They play on the edge and he coaches that.

Kudos to him for finding the players he needs and getting them to play his way. The coaches that win can do that.

How many players on that defense have failed a substance test ?

Browner and Sherman (overturned after he challenged it's validity) and seems as if there was another db in the last year or two that has failed one.

If you want to beat them, you better have a QB that is comfortable w/ the deep ball. They squeezed the field into a depth of 15 yards and Manning only tested the waters past that once.

Another thing, Manning set the completion record on Sunday, but it didn't matter b/c they tackle so well. Every time a receiver caught the ball he was down. They also communicated very well and switched all crossing routes. When you have players that athletic and that disciplined, it speaks volumes of a coach's ability to communicate to his players. They believed in what he preached.
