Who is the favorite to replace McGlone at Russell!

Featured Replies

I have not heard or seen anyone mention a coach that would be slated for the job. It seems that the current assistance staff would be ruled out with the dismissal of them all.

Good question. I think Evans and Caniff are still running the weight program, for now. I would take a serious look at Evans, good man and a good coach.

Can I be the first and say Dudley Hilton. He is mentioned only a few times less than Chuck Smith for every open job.

Russell is probably seen as a pretty good job. I'd say there will be quite a few applications if it is open to people outside the school.

Are you worried?

Me? Nope. I said, "Seen as a pretty good job".

giong to be hard to replace a legend especially with how dirty it was. Serves Russell right if they can't find nobobdy.

TJ Maynard has to be the favorite.

Maynard has already informed the Raceland Administration that he will be returning for the 2014 season.

Firing the coach that he admires more then anyone would not bode well in luring Maynard to the job.

Idk who will get the job but it will be a good one and I'd bet interest will be from all over the State.

To the locals and his close friends that are Russell alumni maybe BUT this will draw attention from a lot of coaches from all around. I'd say he is on their short wish list but we may all be shocked by who applies. I know I have been surprised by a few names. One who has spoken to me would definitely be in the running if he applies.

Really? Can't find anybody? You think that the entire coaching pool will boycott on McGlone's behalf? Let's get real here. they have some serious talent coming up and frankly, someone will be walking into a stacked cupboard. There's a reason Ivan wanted to stay, it's not because he had nothing to return to. He said as much in the article in the paper.

If I was a coach and I had several offers I might take one somewhere else where the administrators aren't idiots who screw over a coaching legend and the whole staff. Im not moving my family all the way out to Russell if I have to worry about administration that cut a legend might do to me. Simple as that. Plenty of openings at other places.
