Not at all. Every site has their own issues. There's a reason Facebook offered $3B. They want to control the market. The founder of Snapchat turned it down because he values it at more than $3B and he's right.

 

I don't use it, but we talked about this in my office a few weeks ago. Major mistake I think by the snapchat guys. Since facebook couldn't buy it, they will come out with something similar and bury it, IF Snapchat even stays feasible as a commodity/social feed. Which, from what I have heard, it may not stay in the forefront for very long and Facebook won't have to even bother. If not, from $3 billion to almost 0 in a blink of an eye. Should have took the money and run.

I think it all depends on how they evolve as a company. Obviously it's peaked to an extent but I think it can sustain and build upon that if they take certain measures to ensure that they move forward instead of backwards.

They hacked the database and exposed thousands on phone numbers. They left off the last 4 digits off the numbers but they were just proving a point. Be careful what you are sending people.

Well not so much of an issue for you but it is for the millions of young people who have sent nude pictures that could potentially be on the internet associated with your phone number someday.

I had it for a few weeks last year and deleted it to make space for another app. I was surprised when I heard people were still using it. Seemed like more of a novelty/fad than something people will continue to use daily.

Which is why I said that seemed like a bad decision in my opinion. You could take 1/3 of that 3 billion, invest it into something new, fail miserably and still have 2 billion left. Again that's a lot of money.

I use Twitter about 95% just for getting news, reading articles on music and movies, etc. I have a Snapchat account that I set up when it was new, essentially just to see what it was about. I don't really use it at all, but after I figured out what the app is, I'm of the opinion that it doesn't have much more purpose than enabling people (and less fortunately enabling kids) to feel 'safe' about sending naked pictures back and forth. I don't use Instagram or have an account on Instagram.

I hate it when something peaks and is on the way down, and I just heard of it today. I am only on facebook. I don't know of anyone I would want to follow, so I am not on twitter. Besides, I assume those on twitter who tweet would be called twits, and I don't want to be a twit.

So what about Instagram? No much discussion on this.

 

As best as I can tell.....it's essentially just a photography app that allows you to add specialized filters to the pictures on your smartphone device, and then share them with your friends/followers in a Facebook-like social media style.

 

My smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S3) has about a dozen filters included in its camera function already, and for that matter, and I hardly use those to begin with. Regardless, I can just share those pictures on my Facebook account without having an additional social media account to get involved with. At this point, at least, I'd just have to say that Instagram is not for me.

Anybody that is NOT on twitter is missing out on legitimate topics & news. Facebook, Instagram, etc. is okay on occasion but I could easily do without.

I use FB to keep up with family and friends. I use twitter to keep up on all the sports. Don't use the other two.
