Congrats to Hoge!

While I won't discredit the good things coach Duffy taught his players while he was here, I won't promote the bad things he did outside of Football & alienated the Alumni that built the very program. The day he ran me and a few others including Brian Weinrich out of the FTJFL was the day I decided one human being wasn't worth battling. I knew one day my time in the JR league would once again come back around and it has. Let's get back to what this thread is about and supporting and promoting current and up coming players rather than digging up a coffin that could bear some serious sins. I'm sure I will get beat on for giving my 2 cents but I would bet the house my opinions would be more supported than not. It's time carry on here.....

I believe you are correct Jack. I actually overhead a couple of guys talking at the Buttermilk Skyline Chili and made the mistake of telling TBirds before actually confirming whether JF attended.

I also was thrilled to see my good friend Mr Richard Skinner at the Highlands press release yesterday. I said hello to him but he must not have heard me or recognized my voice.

Funny you mentioned the painter. I "actually" spoke with him the other day and he did say you have been AWOL for quite sometime.

 

As far as Skinny goes, probably couldn't put the face and voice together. Something must have thrown him off. Maybe you should have brought up that TV show you called in that he was on with that loud mouth co host.

 

Any how, I was telling the paintrr about Beau and he was like, crap another top notch QB from Highlands. Seriously, NKY puts out a lot of top quality QB's. here is hoping for a successful year to Beau and the Bluebirds.

I believe you are correct. My Secondary source that normally gives his 80/20 count of correct Information was wrong again. So I went directly to the #1 source to get what I needed.

 

So with that I have confirmed from my #1 source that Beau Hoge will play for Team USA in Dallas in the 1st week of Feb and he will also compete in the Elite 11 this up coming year. Exciting things in store for this young man to finally get his chance to compete at his natural position.

I remember that night very well when TFVH called into what at that time was a weekly sports show that use to break down NKY High School Football. The hosts I believe were Don Weber and then Trip Topken used to sit in when Don was doing sideline reporting. And their special guests each week were Richard Skinner and Tom Gamble. TFVH called into the live show the night before the 1996 State Finals to give his input about the game. After Tom Gamble would adamantly pick against HHS each and every week, he was thinking about taking HHS that week. TFVH made sure that he wouldn't jinx HHS and insisted that Tom take Hoptown. Tom reversed his pick and all was good in Ft. Thomas. Not that it mattered what Tom Gamble thought, but it was some of the best 24 Seconds of "Hits like a Train" that were ever recorded.

 

I miss those days.....

This is great for Beau....so I am assuming Beau is a Division 1 recruit if he is getting invites to these elite events. Is this safe to say?

Hundreds of kids get invited to the Elite 11 regionals, if he makes the finals however, he's a no brainer, high-level, D1 QB.

Big congrats to Beau. Looking forward to 2014 and Beau at the helm.
