:lol2: He said no such thing, but I guess that won't fit with the narrative.

I read the whole thing, the title is misleading. And I agree with what he said. How long should unemployment benefits last? Forever?

I'm all for unemployment benefits as a short term gap to help people stay on their feet while searching for another job, but if you allow the benefit to have no end you remove the incentive to look for work. Eventually tough love needs to take place. Democrats want to look like the good guy but in reality they are just enabling laziness. It's like a mother who keeps giving her drug addicted son money and expecting a different result. Eventually people have to fend for themselves.

"Charity is injurious unless it helps the recipient to become independent of it." - John D. Rockefeller, Jr.

5 years of Obama policies have not made much of an improvement of the economic outlook for the country. Since his vision has had limited effect for all the money spent, it is time for a different approach. By not passing an extension of benefits those who are unemployed, they will have more incentive to go look for work. There should be jobs out there to get, after all Obama has touted an improving economy for months. At least that what he claims.

The "drug-addicted" comparison is a 10 on a 1 to 10 stupidity scale.

You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch.

Perfect analogy . People get addicted to the free money from other people.

You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch.

Liberals mistake mean, with the reality of being an adult.

You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch.

I think it's a very fair question. What length of time do you think is sufficient? Surely, you don't think individuals should be able to live off unemployment their entire life?

Was that guy a Republican?

Keep trying to defend your analogy and you'll end up in the BGP Stupid Post Hall of Fame.

We're not gonna get personal here or we are gonna end up on the outside looking in. Simple as that.

Here's something to chew on: Every person now drawing unemployment HAD A JOB in the not-too-distant past. Every person now drawing unemployment was PAYING TAXES in the not-too-distant past. We're not talking about stumblebums or work shirkers.

It's really too bad that the majority who post on these political threads consider them fair game, simply because they're economically disadvantaged.
