So, let's have a contest then. How many players on the Impressive Highlands Softball poster actually live in Ft. Thomas, Campbell County, or Kenton County? Just curious.

 

We keep Graybill in cold storage. We wake her up long enough each day to eat, lift, take her 200 swings off a tee and take her steroid injections. Then its back into storage until the next day. Sometimes we let her wander the streets staring at the elderly and kicking puppies!!!!

I'm with all that want this thread to be about the team and the upcoming season but I'll digress and throw my two cents in. Every player in that poster of last year's team were either from the Fort or were enrolled before the doors were closed. I know this because mine was one of the last to get in. It didn't matter that I or any others are alums or not. The coffers were full. When my new DD moved from Wisconsin with her brother we had choices to make and with her academics, athletic abilities and passion... HHS was deemed as the best fit for her. Her brother on the other hand is an accomplished musician and outside of the School for Creative and Performing Arts, CCHS was the best fit for him with their music program being one of the top programs in the area. Just like parents that send their kids to parochial schools, we were lucky enough to be able to make those choices. Everyone that sends their kids to schools outside of the district that they live in that I know does so because they feel that is the best choice for their child for whatever that reason may be. Our Bass player has had opportunities to play his "sport" all over Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana and traveled to the Pontiac Silverdome to compete with his HS. Just as we feel our DD will have similar opportunities with her Bluebird peers. (Yeah, I drink the blue Kool-Aid as well). So now to fastpitch... Let's get this crappy weather out of here and get to the Bird's Nest and play some ball.

We wish all the teams a successful tryout in less than a month but not so much when you come to our place... Lol

Keep the thread about the upcoming season and the team or you could end up on the outside looking in.

No chance....IMO!!!

 

The administration knows what Rob is building with the younger group he has. He is developing some unbelievable talent at the 6th,7th,8th grade levels right now that will pay off in due time. Lets just say those classes are loaded with some very talented girls across the board. He is going to have a pretty decent team the next couple of years but the payday will be in 3-4 years when the younger classes finally surface. The 2 big losses this year will be 8th grader Lexi Conner who moved to rural Nashville and 7th grader Zoie Barth who has decided to concentrate on Basketball only. Hopefully Zoie changes her mind in the next couple of years but man those are 2 major losses for Rob's future success. Rob will tell you, you have to just move on......
