December 31, 201312 yr Its been four years since my Chargers were in the playoffs. Nobody expected us to be anywhere close this year. What this team lacks in talent (a lot), they make up for in guts. This will be the 3rd meeting for these two teams in 13 months. Hard to beat a team 3 times in that short a span. When we met in San Diego, you ran all over us, and Gates fumbled twice in the red zone (after only two fumbles in his previous 10 seasons), and it was still only 17-10. Since then, some things have been different. We went to Arrowhead and gave them their first home loss of the year (with all starters incidentally). We went into Mile High and gave the Broncos their first home loss of the year. We have Johnson and Ingram back on defense, and you all are missing your LG and C. And while I know that Philip Rivers is not that popular on this board, he is a player's player and in my opinion, the great equalizer here. I have suffered as a Charger fan since 1979 (I was crushed by that loss in 1981), but I think we pull the upset Sunday. Maybe it's just me, but KC and Denver didnt hve a tough schedule this year and actually just a few weeks ago neither team had a win against a team wiith a winning record. Denver going into the season hd the weakest SOS of alll 32 teams. Their rrecord isn't very surprising, so although the Chargers didbeat the two teams, that really isn't as immpressive as you may think it is I think it could be a good game, but if Daltonn doesnt play like crappy dalton I thinkn the Bengals win by 10...if Dalton hsa his multiple turnover game then Bengals could lose, but I predict a Bengals win this week.

But, they also were the ones who traveled cross country and they won by 7 and took a knee at the 3 or 4 yard line to end the game when they could have scored if needed. Rivers still scares me, especially if Kirkpatrick has to start as he is undisciplined. I hope the Bengals don't forget to run the ball as much as they can as long as it is working. I say Bengals 31-17.

Agree with you that the Chargers will probably struggle to sustain drives and score points. Dalton and offense can't give Rivers and the Bolts short fields. Forecast is for 34 and snow.

I'm of the belief their OL is actually better with Whitworth at LG and Collins at LT. Missing Cook could hurt, but I've never been a fan of his. For whatever reason, the Bengals offense is just a different animal at home. 41.6 points a game in the last 5 home games. Averaged 34.4 a game for the season at home. Going to be hard for the Chargers to get anywhere close to that against this defense IMO.

Why would anyone pay $100+ to stand in the freezing cold to watch the game when they can spend $20 and have a 12 pack of beer, some wings, and the cozy confines of their living room? Not to mention the beauty of HD and instant replay.

The game is going to sell out. They've sold out how many straight? Most go down to the wire, but they always do what's necessary. Same will happen here.
December 31, 201312 yr If the game doesn't sell out that is more reason why the NFL blackout rules are stupid. The NFL and teams don't lose money, the tv contracts alone put the league in the black. No reason to ever blackout any games.
