Just after halftime Cru cut it to 4ish (I know it got close but forget thr exact margin). At that point Bolden and Chames took over against the Cru 2-3 zone. Holmes coasted from that point on. Love watching Bolden.

36 fouls called tonight...anyone who knows me knows I rarely complain about officiating but this crew was absolutely terrible both ways. The old guy (Larry, I think was first name?) was by far the worst official I've seen in a long time. He was calling fouls before they happened, reporting fouls to the scorers table on the wrong player, while also missing obvious calls.

I didn't know any of the 3 and only recognized 1of the 3. Neither coach was pleased tonight. Painful.

Holmes jumped out to an 11-0 lead with 5:46 left in the 1st quarter, keyed by two oop dunks from Chames and Hill.

St Henry responded with a 12-0 run with Holmes not scoring again until Bolden made 1 of 2 foul shots after getting foul at the buzzer on a 3.

The guys were terrible. The oldest of the group needs to retire. He was absolutely terrible. When Hill fouled out, the foul was on Chames and he reported Hill to the scorer table....Hill was on the other side of the block when the foul occurred.

 

Even worse was when the other official called the player control foul on McClendon when it was clearly a block.Kid was standing underneath the basket when contact was made and didn't blow the whistle until after the ball had went through net and touched the ground.

The charge was awful as was the mix up with Hill. Fortunately it didn't impact the outcome.

Thought Holmes' D in third quarter was the real game-changer. Bolden heated up in second half after a rather lackluster shooting performance in first half. Bulldogs did what they had to do tonight, but not a whole lot more.

With Holmes, it's going to be about guard play, and the Crusader guards are playing very well right now.

Soph guard Adam Goetz had a heck of a game for the Cru. He is talented, scrappy and fearless.

Senior guard Jake Plummer also had a great game.

What was up with Rechtin not playing in the 1st half and only scoring 2 for the game. Senior, team leader, needs to step up when the team needs them to lead. Team needed him last nigt. I would guess it was some kind of team violation as he did play some in the second half. Nice job by Adam Goetz. Once he gets a little more strength watch out, kids a player.
