Dixie Heights 62 Highlands 44

Final from the Fort.

46-26 after 3.

Do we have a box score floating around out there? Looks like this game wasn't reported to the Enquirer.

Likewise, I looked and couldn't find one anywhere. Any HHS fans make the game and can provide a recap? Thanks in advance.

Was not much of a game. Dixie subbed very generously throughout (not the tighter rotation we saw in the St X game) and sat the starters (actually top 7 players) the entire 4th quarter.

HHS is a very scrappy bunch... but very undermanned.

What do you want to know? Too many empty trips where you get no shot or the shot simply is not a good one. Played well in first quarter and in 4th quarter, but the two middle ones were not good. No size equals no rebounds which mean more fouls which mean inexperience.

Nice win for the Colonels...how many did Hatton have?

Should we get used to Highlands not calling their home games in after losses. Nothing in the paper on Sunday regarding the WV loss either.

Regardless if they are undermanned or inexperienced or whatever, there are people who follow them and would like to know who scored and how the quarters played out. Thankfully I check twitter and NKYfan kept us updated atleast through 3 qtrs.

16pts. Here is a small write up in Ft. Thomas Matters by G. Michael Graham.

Dixie Heights 62, Highlands 44:

The Bluebirds fell to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in region play following a home loss Tuesday.

The Colonels (2-2) have won two straight since opening the season with two losses. They are 1-1 in region play.

Highlands saw just one player reach double-digits. That was junior Parker Harris with 11 points.

The Bluebirds could not contain Colonel standout forward Brandon Hatton. The University of Vermont commit scored 16 points.

Highlands plays host to Bishop Brossart (5-1) on Friday. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

You would have gotten this game recap last night had it not been for your first post in the thread.

Dixie was in control throughout. It was 31-20 at half. The Colonels got a couple of stick backs and Hatton hit 2 long 3's in the 4th quarter and the game was over. Lead ballooned to 20 and Dixie went to the bench.

I thought Hatton played well. He didn't force anything. He has extremely good body control. He is able to square his shoulders and turn an off balance shot into a good look. His 3 pt. shooting range extends to 26 ft. The 2 - 3's he hit in the second half were from well behind the arc.

The worst part of the game was the injury suffered by HHS senior guard Ryan Green. He went down in the second half with a knee injury. Awaiting word from MRI today.

Send me a text or a PM - I'll give you the unedited version each game.

Well I guess this is a matter of perspective. It was an 11 point lead at half. I've seen scores in other games this year that were way worse than this one was.

4 pt margin after 1.

11 pt margin after 2.

20 pt margin after 3.

Would it be fair to say that the trend line suggests a lack of depth and fatigue?

HHS does a lot of substitutions so I would say no. They played a real nice 1st quarter and the shots fell and executed. The same could be said in the 4th although it was against the Dixie bench. When they don't fall the size and rebounding can be a real deficit. Hatton also got on track in the Second driving to the basket and getting square with that little floater he has. After that he made a couple long 3's and from a HHS perspective it went South. Prayers go out to Ryan as he gets word on the MRI. As a parent that was tough to see.

Actually this is a tripleheader with game times being Freshmen at 5pm, JV at 6:30pm, and Varsity at 8pm.
