December 1, 201312 yr Bama has to find a kicker...I would have kicked the FG at the end too, but I would have went with Foster again. I don't blame Saban for going for it on 4 & 2 and then trying to kick it on 4th & 13. Coach Saban put his players in a position to succeed, but you have to be able to execute to win. Not the coaches' fault in this one.

Right now you have to figure the human polls make it FSU, OSU, Auburn, Clemson (assuming Clemson wins and Auburn jumps them). If Mizzou loses, South Carolina goes to the SEC Title game. So Bama would probably like Clemson to lose as well. It'd be dicey in your scenario between Clemson and Alabama.

December 1, 201312 yr Last check A&M, up, 7-0. A Mizzou loss also hurts Auburn's shot at the title game without an Ohio State loss. A win over a team that may be rated #4 if they win would be a very nice boost in the computers. South Carolina would help (at least if they beat Clemson), but not nearly as much.
December 1, 201312 yr One play that many people aren't talking about is the play where Marshall runs and then dumps it off at the line of scrimmage. Obviously he didn't cross the line of scrimmage, but you can plainly see ineligible receivers blocking down the field before the pass is released.
December 1, 201312 yr I don't see how Bama can fall past 4. If tOSU was the 2nd best team that's who I'd want to see play FSU...but they aren't. I'm just not a fan of blowout NC games that seem to happen when tOSU is in the NC...

With all the read-option being played right now, that's like complaining that holding wasn't called--it happens on a lot of plays that don't get noticed

Ultimately Bama didn't execute and that's why they lost the game. I would bet that folks in Tallahassee are happy tonight.

I was coming back from Nashville listening to it on xm, their color guy was about to lose his mind about the refs missing the lineman down field.

I heard Coach Saban talking about it on the post game show. I went back and watched it and it is obvious IF you are looking for it. But I am betting that most were just looking to see if he released it behind the line.
