November 25, 201312 yr Perfect testament to how little defense Louisville played yesterday. Not a good thing for a Pitino team. People under estimated the effects of losing Siva and Dieng. Siva anchored the press/defense at the top, Gorgs anchored it down low. Without those two cornerstones anchoring the offense and more importantly defense it's going to be hard for UL to replicate what they've done the last couple of seasons. With that said I still think they have the time to be good, but Siva done more than just what shows up in the statbook with his leadership and ability to run the team. Dieng likewise on being the defensive anchor, similar to the role Davis played on UK's title squad. Without those two big puzzle pieces, it's still going to be hard to get it to fit back together even if you return most of the puzzle and some other nice shapes to go with it (Rozier, Jones, etc.).
November 25, 201312 yr College hoops looks to be wide open this year! For the moment. At the end of the season though I can see 5-6 legit title contenders and that's unheard of really. I mean we usually have two or three but there's going to be a lot of good teams standing at the end.

Dick Vitale was saying that he feels like there are a half dozen teams that are at a level higher than the rest. Michigan State, Louisville, Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, & Arizona were the teams he named.
