Is the 9th Region wide open???

I can honestly say he is very good. He has a great jumper in the lane, hangs in the air and can leap very well. A solid rebounder and decent defender. He may be thin and only 6'3 but he plays like he is 6'6. He can even lead the break. The fact that he is no longer on the team is actually a very sad situation and unfortunate. You hate to see this happen to a kid with this kind of talent.

Did he mean as much to his team as KMart or Lebron? Doesn't speak volumes for the other players on Holmes

While Holmes's other players are excellent, Rice meant even more because he was the only prescence in the paint. Henderson is only 5"11 and Hill has been playing 2-guard his entire life.

Wow that Rice kid must have been a heck of a player

I knew some would miss the analogy.

I'll simplify it: You cannot say you have to base your thoughts on past history when the KEY components of said past history are not all still there.

When KMart went down everone knew UC had no chance, are you guys saying this applies to Holmes? Maybe I,m reading to much into the KMart and Lebron analogy. Since I have not seen Holmes play I don't know how much Rice meant. Can they win without him or not?

Depends. They easily beat Dixie (who runs a 5 guard offense). But they lost to NCC, who has big Zach Kiernan in the middle. NCC is not a top tier 9th region team, maybe 5th or 6th best. At this point, it looks like they can not beat a team with an inside prescence.

Holmes CAN still win. They still have 2 very good players(including the best overall player in the region in Hill) , another who is very good defensively, and another who , if you don't guard him, can nail 3s.

However, they are NOT the same team. They will suffer without an inside presence on both ends of the floor.

So when Kenyon Martin went down with a broken leg, you still assumed UC was a true contender for the NCAA championship? If Lebron goes down the for the Cavs, do you assume it has no impact on their future playoff chances?

Any time reason B doesn't seem to make sense, go back to reason A. :D

A. works

I've said this one thing since the Rice debacle. This whole situation could make DJ's legacy. If he rises out of the situation a true leader and rallies his troops. DJ,Hill, and Henderson are still to talented for any 9th team to control when there playing well.

That's a valid point. However, every time I've seen DJ play, which is a good 4 or 5 times, his on court demeanor shows anything but leadership. Too much complaining to the refs and finger-pointing. He does have mass talent though.

Holy Cross also defeated Lexington Catholic this year. Don't count the 9th out!

They beat LexCath's JV team during the football season.

Forget about NCC without Heil playing!

Is he hurt?

He walked off the court at the Holmes win.

They were missing on starter and one player off the bench. HC was missing Steeken. Can people let it go and admit it was a good win.

He walked off the court at the Holmes win.

Did he ever stop walking? Where did he go? Why did he walk?
