You have two public built stadiums in Cincinnati (PBS/Nippert) and neither were available (money wise) for a game between two Hamilton County HS to play on, when at least PBS was sold to the taxpayers that indeed HS and College games would be played their too!

The operating cost to use PBS for the game is $100,000. OHSAA said they could move the game if they could guarantee $50k in revenue. I'm guessing they couldn't make that guarantee.

Mike Brown could have shown a little "goodwill" to the community and just "pony up" $100K, that's pocket change to him.

Our outing was going to a big deal! We were even drawing some comments from the Highlands/CovCath thread in the midst of their "rivalry" debate! I think we should "change our venue" and find some warm place with some of our favorite adult beverages, appetizers, and a big screen TV tuned into TWC channel 511.

So the OHSAA wanted a 50,000.00 GTD which I honestly can't blame them for but what about P&G, Krogers, Duke and Western Southern telling the OHSAA that we will cover the difference (if there is one) between what you bring in and the 50,000? If we include Great American Ins that only 10,000 each would have to come up with if a dime wasn't made!

I was reading today that a lot of the heartburn over PBS was due to the short notice. Bye week for the Bengals is also bye week for many of the workers and security folks at the stadium. There would not be enough time to get people to fill slots and be available Saturday night. My blame shifts to the powers that be months ago not having the foresight to see this and prepare for the possibility of this game being held. Not a lot of long term planning in government around this area.
