Ugly win for the Cards who did not seem like they even wanted to be there much of the game. Should they play like this next week they may find themselves getting the basketballs out

First time I've seen the cardinals since the graves co game. I expected to see a much better team than that. They have played a brutal scedule and I hope this was just a case of them not being mentally prepared instead of already peaking.

Mayfield standards are high. They hold Holy Cross to -4 yards on 28 rushing attempts, 75 total yards in the game and yet the sky is falling in Mayfield.

Congrats on the shutout win Cardinal fans.

The defense was stellar, maybe, one of there best nights of the year, but, the offense wasn't clicking like it usually does. Of course, it doesn't help when your best playmaker, Deion Jackson, is nowhere to be seen in the stat lines. Plus, the HC DL was huge, with one DT weighing in at 380 and another at 340, so, they should get a little of the credit for the offensive woes. The Cards did what they needed to do and moves on to the next round. Survive and advance. That's the name of the game at this time of the year.

The metal mistakes were frustrating, LHC got drives continued after we ran into the punter (still not sure how the ball was not blocked on one) we have a blocker on a LHC punt not see the ball and get hit by it resulting in LHC ball, we jump off sides on defense giving LHC a first down, we somehow line up offsides on offense on a 3rd and goal, Guhy went only 12-21 (when was the last time he had that many incomple passes though not all his fault)ect... The sky isnt falling and its hard to be sharp against a team you know you are likely to beat easily but from here on there will be no sure wins and we will need to be mentally ready. This is a smart team though and I have noticed over the years that generally, smart teams come out of these type funks when it matters. Had we been sharper last night the game would have been over much faster.

Standards are high here, that's why the cardinals are one of the top programs in the state.

I agree with that.

I don't know how to explain it...yeah, we won 35-0, but it was as ugly a win that I have ever witnessed. We made "bad news bears" mistakes last night...hopefully you will understand the reference...like the moment Tao had tipped the ball to himself to intercept it, and another one of our players decided he wanted it, and neither one of them caught it. Stuff like that...all night long. I celebrate the victory, but we cant have another one those nights.

one more thing, I agree, the defense was awesome...great job Cardinal D!
