Rpyals came ready to play tonight. Garrard has some early momentum early but sht themselves in the foot with a big penalty and a fake punt that didn't work. Nail in the coffin may have been the Royals' score just before the half, right after Garrard had their only score of the night. Then couldn't take advantage of 3 MC fumbles early in the 3rd quarter.

First 12-0 start in MC history.

PS - my distinct pleasure getting to meet and talk with gchs this evening.:thumb:

Garrard's opening drive saw them push into Mason territory, only to see a long run called back on a questionable holding call then a failed fake punt on fourth down. Mason had momentum and went straight and scored and it was basically a clinic by the Royals for the rest of the first half. Garrard scored just before halftime to cut it to 29-7 only to see Mason score within the final seconds to push it back to 36-7. The Garrard offense was some better in the second half but couldn't push anything in. Mason was the better team and played really well while Garrard seemed to play pretty poorly. Congratulations to the Royals - you guys have a really terrific team.

Side note: I got to meet mcpapa at the game tonight. Enjoyed our conversation immensely and hope to meet up with you again in the future! :thumb:

I've had my doubts about Mason all year due to there schedule, but, these last few weeks, look to be a serious contender. I think this next weeks game should be a dandy. Can either of these teams, Mason or Bourbon, hang with the Pirates? Wouldn't have thought so, earlier, but, not so sure now.

Wow, nice performance by the Royals, I didn't expect quite this margin of victory. Congratulations on the win and keeping the unbeaten streak alive.

I hate it for the Lions, I really like what Coach Scenters has done there and I made some great friends from Garrard Co a couple of years ago.

I hope Mason Co can knock off Bourbon this week and Belfry can get past Pike Central. Mason Co is a fun place to play and a matchup between the Royals and Pirates would be a battle this year, especially with a trip to the title game on the line.
