Is the another materially illegal action? The executive branch can not (or used to not be able to) change a law arbitrarily.

 

 

If the law needs material changes then Congress needs to roll up its sleeves - and pass legally valid updates to the law that the President can then sign into legal law.

 

Congress can not absolve themselves of the issues even it is not called "Congresscare". Their role is to pass laws and pass modifications to existing laws as needed. They seem to be willing to go along with legally invalid actions if it helps them politically.

The insurance companies are calling foul already.

 

They already set rates based on the law and its impact. They have already ran and published the numbers based on the changes. They have set premiums. They have already sent over five million communications of cancellations and more are probably already in the mail or being printed.

 

Not that they are innocent in this whole debacle but it puts them on the spot.

 

Chaos continues. This is not a simple 'fix'.
