Does anyone know more about the altercation between both teams towards the end of the game? The local paper said things got really ugly

From the way the radio announcers talked, about 30ish Mason County players gained up on several Powell County players. Powell County's camera guy told the announcers he got everything on tape. The radio announcers are hoping Powell County coaches turn it into the KHSAA.

I wasn't there so I don't know, just going by what the radio announcers were saying.

Per the Ledger Independent Online, a Powell County player tackled a Mason County player into and beyond the sidelines into a fence on the Mason County sideline, probably accounting for the 30ish Mason County players because it was their sideline. Evidently very little or no Mason County fans presently reside on BGP because they have not commented. Sumo, where are you at when we need you?

That may be true, I have no idea. I wasn't there. I had turned it on with about 2 or so minutes left to go in the game. I was just going by what the announcers were saying. I don't know if the coaches are gonna turn it into the KHSAA or not but Powell's radio announcers are sure wanting them too.

Powell County radio guys were also huge homers. I was sitting in the press box and they were yelling when everything was happening.

Here's what happened.

The game started getting chippy in the third quarter and the refs really didn't clean up the play.

Mason County's Nelson ran out of bounds on the Mason County sideline and gets drove into the fence. He was clearly out of bounds. Refs toss a flag on Powell. Powell County players and Mason County then getting into a shoving match and Mason County coaches break it up. No punches or nothing like that.

Thanks for the clarification. The way they were talking, it was all Mason County's fault.

It was both teams. The late hit out of bounds got it started. Mason coaches jumped in and got both teams split up.

This is how it went down.

Congrats to the Royals on extending the win streak. Keep it up. :thumb:
