October 25, 201312 yr Although it was a bad play call on 3rd & 7 UK didn't have many options. Max barely could throw the ball 5 yards and the ball was very wobbly, screen passes became ineffective. Only thing I disagree with is bringing Whitlow in to run. If they wanted to run the ball they should let let Sanders do it. Or if you do bring in Whitlow they should have passed the ball.

I'm willing to give him a free pass because of his personnel, but my biggest gripe with this team all season has been the play calling.

Wait another season or 2 then if it's still the same then we can go from there. I'm willing to give him a free pass because of his personnel, but my biggest gripe with this team all season has been the play calling. Play calling has been questionable but I think some of that still resides to the fact that they don't have the right players. Obviously some calls have been questionable just because of whatever reason, but some, in my opinion, are because they do not trust some of the players and they play more conservative.

Doesn;t know pass protections, what to call in down and distance situations. He put up video game numbers against bad defenses in the Big 12, excluding, Oklahoma and Texas. Who in their drunk mind, would run a reverse on 3rd and 1 against Florida? I am tired of some fans making excuses for him. He comes off as a goofy goober in his TV interviews. Didn't have Max Smith ready to come off bench agaianst Alabama, in case Whitlow got hurt, which he did. I have a whole laundry list, but, I will stop here. Except, one more thing, Miss. St. shifted the D on 3rd and 7 and was waiting on Whitlow.

I agree but I believe it has more to do with them not trusting Max to make any sort of down field throw. Either way Stoops was very upset with the playcalling from the coaches so he probably feels the same way as the fans.

His performance last year prior to being hurt suggests he can throw it 8 yards. I'm not looking for them to toss it 20 yards every play but come on. That offense will work just fine with quick 5-10 yards passes. You don't have to go down field.

When the plays they call don't give the players a chance to succeed then what does it matter how good they are. And I would argue that Sanders would start for a few SEC teams.
