This is amazing! Much respect for the whole Beechwood Orginization. Congratulations to Miles Laird!

I know this got some mention in the Beechwood / Campbell County freshman game thread, but I thought it deserved its own thread.

Very, VERY well done on all counts. My hat's off to all the coaches and players on both teams that made this happen.

Awesome story! Well done by everyone on the Beechwood AND Campbell County side of the ball.

Absolutely awesome. Kudos to the Beechwood and Campbell County programs. :thumb:

Second that!

Great story. I respect Beechwood so much but this brings it to even a higher level. It puts a lump in this old football players throat. :thumb: Thanks to Campbell County also.

Really cool on the part of Beechwood and Ch 5 did a good job on the story.

I posted this in the game thread but thought it was worth posting again in this thread. This was awesome, sometimes things like this put things into perspective and show us fans and the kids what it is all about. Kudos to both teams for making this happen in this young mans life. When they carried him off the field up on their shoulders, I thought of the joy that it brought to this kids life and brought me to tears. Truly a spectacular moment and one that young man will cherish forever.

Thanks for posting and for the thread CWB. That is definitely a special moment for everyone involved.

How was it done? Was it before the game? During the game?

I meant to ask that as well. The final score of the game was 16-0 Beechwood....relatively close score. That shows an even bigger heart than I first realized on the part of the Camels if they let Miles tack on an extra 6 in a pretty tight scoring margin.

It was at the start of the game. No one knew what was happening in the stands. At least on the Camels side we didn't. They lined up at our forty yard line and we were saying what is going on? No kickoff? This young man was in full gear so we were clueless on what was going on but we figured it out real quick. Very touching moment. Well done by all parties involved. :thumb:

The points didn't go towards the score. The beautiful thing was that boy ran like it was 4th and goal of the Super Bowl. Very inspirational moment.

Damn....no tissues at the computer in the library that I'm sitting at. Stuff like this and soldiers surprise return home always get me. Nice job by all involved.

I hear what you are saying. When I listened to the mom talk I was holding back tears too.
