Having lost my wife of 30 years to cancer about this time last year, I can only say that I am truly sorry you have to go through this, Coach Brossart! My prayers are with you and your family!

Cancer does suck. Trying to coach while raising a family and handling a spouse battling cancer is so hard, so humbling and really puts life into perspective at so many levels. My thoughts and prayers go out to Dave, his entire family and the Dixie Community.

I applaud SK, Coach Marksberry and the SK fans for their support. From the "KB" stickers to the "pink out" tonight to the comments Coach Marksberry has made to the media. Tonight is about a lot more than a game and they get it.

Unfortunately, I am out of town so I couldn't make the funeral today. Heard some former CCH students/friends of Cary's were there. Heard LOTS of Dixie people, including players, were there. Good of Dixie to roll out like that and proud of the 2011 CCH grads that came home from Lexington, Georgetown, and Louisville for the day to support their brother. Mark Wehry went and told me Cary gave an awesome eulogy. No surprise.

It's very touching to see how much coach and Kristina have touched the lives of so many in the area. I first learned of her fight with Cancer when Cooper did their pink out in honor of her and Coach B last season when we played Dixie. When you see an entire community pull together like that you know how special the people invoked really are.

 

I lost a sister a few months ago to cancer and can only hope the family is feeling the relief of knowing Kristina is no longer suffering. God bless her and the entire family.

Roomed with Cary, her son, in college for a little bit. Great woman, who fought really really hard and always had a smile on her face. She will be missed, that's a fact.
