Get over it - Dixie had there chance. Heck, CCH played without their starting QB and RB for the last three quarters and Dixie STILL lost.

 

CovCath barely beat Ryle.

He was wanting a time out. Not sure why, maybe he saw something he didn't like. He went bananas on the the official on Dixie's sidelines and then proceeded to go bananas on the white hat with a few adjectives thrown in which warranted the flag. Not sure if he called it late or called it at all but I will say that referee crew is ranked #1 in this area and if he called it they would of given it to him. I think it was more out of frustration for the way the game was going for them.

 

If that crew is ranked #1, I'd hate to see #2.

Thank you I4C for your insight, I haven't got a straight answer yet as to Coach Brossarts rant. I like your style. Very much unlike memyselfandis'. On the subject of feedback. Unlike the Camels who have won 2 consecutive district titles, Dixie only won 3 games last year with a new HC and the year before was a disaster.

 

We're happy with new coach, mindset, and the reality we've won 5 games. Crossing the Licking River can be scarry for some and we're on fall break also. Sorry we disappointed you with our turnout youyourselfandyou. Your passion for Dixie turnout is flattering!

 

I would recommend if you are seeking validation for your teams efforts in a hs football game they may be better served hanging with the Camels boosters, not a sports forum . I don't believe anyone from this thread said the Colonels should have won, if so, get over it. You're sure not going to get: outstanding, magnificent, what a hum dinger....from the team you beat. I thought congrats to the Camels and the Camel d stepped up was adequate enough.

 

Get used to disappointment if your expectation exceeds the above. Camels won, wtg, need a hug? Seek one from a loved one.

Have you read this whole thread? There are people on here who specifically stated they should have won and Dixie was the better team. You might want to go read page one of the this thread. People also agreed with me the lack of support for Dixie. CCHS was on fall break as well and I am saying if this game was at Dixie there still would have been more people supporting a 3-2 team (or whatever CCHS record is) than a 5-1 team. I was just surprised. Heaven forbid someone say something to SUPPORT THE KIDS! That is what I was doing, SUPPORTING THE KIDS, kids deserve to have support from their school and community. WOW! Well I don't believe the Camels got much love in the prediction thread, 17 votes for Dixie, 10 votes for the Camels in the pregame poll. Only one person, (me) picked the Camels to win in NKY regional contest. So there were many that thought Dixie should win this game. There were some remarks made as to Dixie being the better team in this thread. If you want to use fall break as the reason for poor fan support, so be it. You're right, that big ole Licking River is scary. I'll end with this, your "youyourselfandyou" remark was very poor taste, IMO

I've been to PLENTY of games over the years in ALL sports, and can tell you Campbell Co has shown up with lackluster fan support on the road many, many times. Honestly I could care less what the opposing team does. I sure didn't run to my computer to make a soap opera out of it on BGP.

Knowing memyselfandi, I would say that member was not fishing for anything or trying to start a soap opera, membyselfandi simply asked about it because he/she was surprised by it, as was I. District game with a lot at stake, I thought the place would be packed and rockin. I to have been to Plenty of games and will say it always baffled me how the smaller schools have more of a fan base than the larger schools and a larger student section. But believe me, memyselfandi wasn't taking a shot at Dixie or trying to stir the pot. memyselfandi is passionate about Camel football and the kids. I saw nothing wrong with what was said or what a lot of others said in the prediction thread and the final score thread about the Camels. Just opinions of others.

Lord have Mercy, I was not trying to start anything, I was simply stating I was surprised that a team who was 5-1 and essentially playing for home field advantage did not travel that well. I guess no one can say anything anymore without being judged for what they say. It is about the kids and I just wish a 5-1 team had better fan support. No drama in that comment. You don't know me or maybe you do (I don't hide behind my name) but my #1 priority is the kids, always has been and always will be.

Henry and I took in this game, as Highlands had a bye and we have friends coaching at both schools.

 

My observations:

 

-neither team had what I'd call a huge turnout of fans for such an important game. The Camels had a better turnout, then again, it was a home game so I'd expect that.

 

-although Dixie lost, I thought they had the better defense and offense. Dixie's O really shot itself in the foot over and over again with drive stopping penalties. The bad shotgun snap on the third down before the punt that the Mathews (?) kid returned for a touchdown hurt Dixie big time. If I recall properly, it was third and manageable. With the bad snap, Dixie had to punt real deep in its own territory. The punt had no hang time and the returners didn't have much of a chance to get into the coverage lanes. Mathews did make one heck of a return though. Kid is quick and elusive. Played a pretty nice game at safety too. I saw him come up a couple of times and fight off blockers to make tackles.

 

-the Camels won the game because they didn't make stupid penalties over and over again. Well done.

 

-while the Camel D played pretty well; the Dixie D played exceptionally well. I really like Avery Wood; he's a tough son of a gun, but the Dixie D did an exceptionally good job stopping him or at a minimum, really limiting his effectiveness. Dixie's D flew to the ball. The DC for Dixie, Kevin Eickmann, is doing a fantastic job at Dixie.

 

-Dixie's QB impressed me too. Really nice ball player.

 

-my first time in the new Camel facility. Very nice.

 

-ran into some other Highlands fans taking in the game as well as some "county folks" that I don't see all to often.

 

-just a nice evening all the way around.
