Sounds like it was about as riveting as I expected.

 

It was interesting from my vantage point. I saw a very good QB (Barker) pass for 279 yards and 7 TDs. I have seen 3 of his games now and he is as good as advertised. He has a lot of weapons at receiver. Early on, he hurried a few of his throws, but that is being very picky.

 

I also got a chance to see a young Holy Cross team try to change it up a little bit tonight by running more of the Indians offense. It is always a pleasure to see Beal get loose on a couple long runs as he did tonight with his 97 yard kickoff return TD and his 80 yard run.

 

Sure there was a running clock early in the 2nd quarter, but it was a football game nevertheless. I think teams will find it very difficult to fill a 10 game schedule if they are limited in playing up or playing down. Who makes that call? NCC has played a difficult schedule too. There is something to learned from every game IMO.

Correct, it was a little interesting with 33 seconds to go in the first half and Conner called time out on 4th down at the HC 12. Initially, Koz was upset, but Conner lined up and attempted a field goal (which was missed). It was then understood that Conner was probably trying to practice that in the event that they needed to do it again at a more meaningful time later in the season. They were NOT trying to run up the score with the FG attempt.

My take tonight is that I sympathize with Beal... Kid is a stud in a tough situation (to be positive). After the first few drives I seriously questioned if I would get to see his talent on full display but he played HARD offensively and defensively and was all over the field. I was extremely impressed and tonight he showed me a lot character wise. It's a lot harder to be great in tough situations than when it comes easy and he earned every yard and tackle that he had tonight. I'll be curious to see where he ends up playing at the next level. He won a fan tonight.

What were Barkers numbers in this game? Sounds like he had a huge night!!! I want him to get to the 50/50 club, that would be mind numbing.
