Senator Cruz believes in limited government that allows individuals to use their talents to achieve the American Dream. While helping those who truly need limited help, temporary help. Obama believes in big government that limits individuals in the use of their talents with government regulations and taxation that creates a nightmare. He believes in handing out what others earn to not only the deserving, but to many who use government handouts because they have no incentive to work.

Cruz has forgotten "Non solum nobis , sed patriae " He is an ambitious man , who covets Obama's Office .

If he does run, it will be as an American who is proud of his country and sees the possibilities that it has to offer to anyone who makes an effort. Now, does that mean everyone achieves 100% of their goals, no. But they at least had the chance to try to make those goals a reality. Cruz, from what I have seen of him so far, is not one to place roadblocks to success. He will encourage individuals to use their abilities to climb up on their own and not use government as a crutch, that leads to a lifetime of dependency.

If we're going to show proper respect and call Mr Cruz by his "senator" title shouldn't we show our President the same respect?

Question: Can Cruz's credentials stand on their own? Or must everything be compared to Obama? Throwing that part in there doesn't make me like or disapprove of Cruz any more or less. Tell me about him, not how he's Not Obama. Sounds just like how everybody was Not Bush a few years back.

It's unbelievable how lazy campaign shilling has become these days.

When choosing between candidates I compare them to my political beliefs. Whether choosing a candidate or a product I believe one would make side by side comparisons. Although I can see your point, that in the end a candidate has to sell his points of view.

Can you provide more detailed info on what his policies would be? I'm always interested in new ideas and I know nothing about Senator Cruz.

What programs/policies would he put in place to encourage? Would those policies apply to all? Or be targeted to those currently receiving social aid benefits?

I believe that Senator Cruz will see government working for the American people, not the other way around. There may be a need to help some people with health care, but not at the expense of making everyone be part of a massive government controlled plan.

As a person of smaller government, I hope, he will lessen the burden of regulations and taxes. There is a place for regulation and taxation, but we are being smothered by both. Rand Paul said in the meeting with the President that money that companies have stashed overseas be allowed to return to the States at 5% instead of 35%. That would generate money, because the companies are not going to bring it home at the higher rate, but most likely would at the lower rate. This money then could go to infrastructure program creating jobs. The companies then would have more money to expand business here at home.

Senators Cruz, Paul, Lee and other like minded members of Congress would seek to reduce our yearly deficit. Rand Paul has said he supports Connie Mack's 'Penny Plan'. This plan reduces all government programs spending by one cent on the dollar every year for 5 years, leaving us with a balanced budget. They also see the need for reform with many programs like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Now as far as Senator Cruz, I am not sure if he supports raising the retirement age or privatizing the program. I am confident he will be looking for something other than raising taxes or saying people cannot use their retirement funds because they have other sources of income.
