October 8, 201312 yr There are a ton of Heisman winners who didn't make it in the NFL, he's just another one. Could maybe make it in a different position? He's been cut by what - 5 different teams now? Get the message. Jags better off picking up Matt Flynn.
October 8, 201312 yr Vikings brought in Josh Freeman, not Timmy, when they needed help at QB. He's just not a viable NFL QB. Sanchez was still a better option than he was on the Jets - that's saying something.

October 8, 201312 yr The bolded isn't true at all. If TT was a better option, he would have played. In the minds of the coaching staff, the people who see him every day and who's jobs are on the line based on if they win or lose, Sanchez was the better option. If Tim gave them a chance to win, they would have played him. These are pro coaches with decades of combined experience at every playinglevel, I think they know a little bit more than you.

They also have "their guy" who they don't want to admit was a wasted draft pick. The GM and coaches in NY wanted nothing to do with Tebow. They signed him because the owner told them they had to. To replace Sanchez with Tebow would've been an admission of failure on their part, and they weren't going to admit that.

October 8, 201312 yr Because coaches have never made a mistake in evaluating talent... You mean Akili Smith really wasn't a good 1st round pick?

Denver and New England, 2 of the most successful organizations in modern pro football, cut him also. What do they know that you don't? Oh yea, he's not an NFL QB. Ask every convicted felon, wife beater, drunk, and drug addict currently playing in the NFL - if you can play, you will be on a team. He's proven to 3 teams already, and thus the rest of the league, that he can't be an NFL QB.

Denver cut him after trading for one of the 10 best QBs in NFL history, and New England did the same. No one is saying he's great, but he's solid enough that he could've done as good if not better than Sanchez or anyone that Jacksonville currently employs.
October 8, 201312 yr Author I love the outrage that comes out when Tim Tebow's name is mentioned. I just don't get it. How does TT spark so much emotion in people?
October 8, 201312 yr Sanchez is and was awful and Tebow couldn't cut it in NY. Jax is a different story if it puts someone even one person in the stands then why not give it a whirl. I'm sick of hearing about the guy but Jax is the worst team in the NFL possibly worse than the old Buccaneers teams of years back.

Losing in front of 69,000 is better than losing in front of 59,000 and I think Tebow will fill the stadium.

As much as I hate the circus that follows him and the media attention it all gets, the kid is a winner and he will put rear ends in the seats and generate revenue with his jersey sales. Not to mention he went to Florida so his fan base has to be exceptional down there. I trust the pros saying he is not a QB but this kid wins and is a gamer. I'm not saying he'll be the answer but he's a lot better than what the jags have and if ownership can put some coin in their pocket in the process, win a couple games, then I think it's a brilliant move.
October 8, 201312 yr Author I'm wondering if any of you have actually watched Jacksonville play this season. They are terrible. There's a reason by Jones-Drew rushes 22 times for 40 yards. They have no line, no defense and no QB. Might as well bring in someone who will at least be intriguing.
